This is a great reggae-influenced song from a Hawaiian band. The song is about 3 years old, but KROQ Los Angeles has been playing it for awhile and now WXRK New York has added it. WHTG also just added it this week (though they always support songs leaning towards the surf crowd). Anyone else thinking that the fact that the country's 2 largest stations jumping on this is a sign of a hit? With Spring around the way, I can see this taking off and becoming a big summer hit at the format if it gets the proper push.

On KUCD it has 9 spins this week. It was added on 2/11/03.

KROCK really likes this song, why is everyone playing it so long after its release?

It's up tp #13 on KROCK's playlist, and all the DJs love it. How is it doing overall?

I don't know where KROQ has it this past week, but the week before, no sooner did they shoot it up from 9-12 spins all the way up to 31, becoming their most played song that week, it was back down to 12-ish last week.

Okay... I'd heard one other song from these guys ("Ashes") before hearing this. The last thing I expected from it is a chorus straight out of a 50 Cent song. :o (And Adam, I'm sorry for making that comparison, but that's who it reminded me of. ;)) Why don't you have some dirty hot sex with me? It ain't like I'm asking you to give it up for free Oh, we can start it right now, baby get on your knees Don't make me beg again, girl I just said please, pleaseAdd the moaning sounds before the second chorus, and I'm surprised this is even getting played at all.

So when does this officially go for adds? The funny thing is that they have no add date for it and yet, it's getting quite a bit of play on K-Rock NY. I'd assume that Give It Up is not going to be played all that much. I'd say Ashes will likely be the mainly promoted song although who knows...

I'd say Ashes will likely be the mainly promoted song although who knows... Wasn't "Ashes" already unsuccessfully pushed to the format though? Anyway, I do like "Give It Up" and really want this sound to come back to radio, however, this song IS pure novelty and I'm afraid it would set the band up for one-hit wonderdom and in the "not serious" category when in reality this is an awesome, talented band with a lot of great songs.

I just heard this Sunday on HFS and I LOVE it! At first I thought it was some unreleased Sublime track or something. It's been a while since this kind of sound has found it's way onto Alternative.

Wow, after such early action it's not even in the Top 20 Jump! section. Maybe this won't hit afterall.

good, they are annoying and I hope they just fade away. I've only heard their song once, when they were on loveline, they are not played here on KITS (San Francisco) and I am glad. It's not that great.
