This is #34 on Active Rock, which is fine, but when did he become an Alternative artist? ??? He's #59 on that chart.

I always thought his old songs occasionally got played on retro lunches on alternative stations. I mean, he was a post-punk artist. I can see why he'd fit by name. I know KNDD has featured it on their "New Music Show"
But I saw the video for it on VH1. I think I'd rather stick to his past stuff anyway.

You could be right. I just wasn't aware he had any Alternative cred.
I'm not a big fan of this one. If it hits the top 50, it would go right onto the "Least Favorites" list I made in that other topic.

White Wedding? Dancing with Myself? Eyes Without a Face? Rebel Yell? He was the lead singer for Generation X back in the late 70's. (They were punk.)
I can't access my files at this time, but I believe "Cradle of Love" was an Alternative hit back in '90 and that he at least charted in '93 with "Shock to the System."
I, too, didn't care much for "Scream," upon my first viewing/listen. And the video was cheesy, too.

It's ok, nothing special. At least he didn't do a ballad.

Billy Idol does have alternative cred, you just have to go back a ways.

My dad got this album yesterday. This is the most classic-sounding Billy Idol song on it, just to give you an idea. "Rat Race" could make a good second single, though.
