So can we expect to see WBBO taken off the Pop panel soon? WBBO was removed from the h1r panel the chart uses months ago. It's still on the h1m panel.

I've heard of "Z-Rock," but G-Rock sounds pretty good! I like it!

WHTG is the best Alternative station anywhere. I say this because they're a REAL Alternatve station, and don't buy into any of that nu-metal garbage.
However, I am sad to see B 98.5 go. It was always a refresing replacement for Z100 every summer once I moved into my beach house. They always added a wide range of new music, from all different genre's - rock to r&b to dance to HAC to hip-hop. They also added their "new music" when it actually WAS new. It was the "widest" Pop station I ever came across, and even better they never played anything 80 times a week. The area needed that, I'll miss it this summer to tell the truth.
So wait, does this mean WHTG won't be on 106.3 anymore but 98.5 instead? If so, that sucks for me since the 106.3 frequency comes in at my house sometimes and 98.5 never does.

WHTG will be on both frequencies. I wonder if they will try to change WBBO's call letters. Sometimes simulcasts have the two frequencies with only one call letter different. I checked to see if WBTG is available, and WBTG in Alabama is on the same frequency as WHTG. WDTG is available.

I know, but I'll still miss B98.5 in its true form. That station was the soundtrack of all my high school summers (and to a lesser extent, my college summers too).

Let's just hope they don't get turned into a Spanish or Urban station anytime soon...

Let's just hope they don't get turned into a Spanish or Urban station anytime soon... I doubt that will happen considering the stations are owned by Press (is that a local company?), the lack of many minorities in the market, and the peformance of CHR-Rhythmic, Urban, Tropical, and Spanish Contemporary stations in the Monmouth-Ocean ratings. I think they should put the Alternative on 98.5 in an area which should get better signals of Country stations from Philadelphia and Atlantic City-Cape May than where 106.3 is and try Country on 106.3 in an area where you can hear Alternative WXRK.

WHTG and WXRK, while both Alternative, really lean to the two complete opposite ends of the format. 106.3 should stay as is, it comes in far more to the north than 98.5 does, and that's a good amount of extra audience because the north is more populated. Country is not needed in New Jersey, there is absolutely no demand for it.

I'd shoot myself if they went country. Me to. Our state is way too chic for that hillbilly shit. ;) (Just kidding.... kinda of)

There's no demand for Country? You don't think some listeners of the popular AC stations would listen to some Country? Country station WPUR does the best in Monmouth-Ocean out of all the stations with low ratings from Philadelphia or Atlantic City-Cape May and isn't too far behind WBBO and WHTG. Not to mention WPUR's ratings and fourth place ranking in Atlantic City-Cape May refute the general statement that there is no demand for Country in New Jersey.

Country is not needed in New Jersey, there is absolutely no demand for it. Country on 107.1 did better in the ratings than WHTG currently does and 107.1 and 106.3 cover about the same area.

The 107.1 that was Country is in northern Monmouth County. That's still the bottom half of the state. There is no market for that crap in central/northern Jersey. Thank God.

I encountered two or three country listeners upon entering college. They're all from South Jersey, of course.

Monmouth County is not in south Jersey. If you cut the state exactly in half, it's in the upper half.

"All WHTG weekend shows and regular features will be retained" said PD Mike Gavin. Press Communications, which is based in Wall, plans to open a regular news bureau at the Manahawkin studios by the end of the first quarter. (from the Asbury Park Press)
It's good to see there is so much love for G Rock.

I live in North Jersey and found G106.3 on my radio about a year ago and now I have it preset even though as I go further north I lose signal but most places the signal is great and it is the best station on my dial.
