This is currently #7 on ITunes! I dont know if a topic has already been posted for this song. Does anyone know of an adds date for this single? I am feeling this song for some reason. FYI this is a remake of the Dr. Dre album track of the same name.

Why is this in the pop forum? It's not like it would fit in any better in the Rhythmic forum or the Hot AC forum.

Maybe they wouldn't and see who'd have the courage to play the track.

Seriously though, this is great, because it's almost diametrically opposite to the genre Ben usually does, but he effortlessly makes it sound like one of his own songs.

Now that the song has made the Hot 100, I guess this should go into the Alternative forum (all 24 of this song's Mediabase-monitored spins are on the Sirius Alternative station).

This I gotta hear. Ben Folds can be so good as satirical stuff like this.

If you like this song, check out Dynamite Hack - Boys in the Hood (snoop cover?). LOL

Actually, that one's an Easy-E cover.
I thought that one was kinda bland, but really enjoy Ben's version of this classic.

It's actually Eazy-E and the 10th anniversary of his death is tomorrow.
Yeah, anyone can make a straight-faced acoustic version of a song. Dynamite Hack killed their career before it even started. Their debut single was a novelty cover.
I like Ben Folds' cover okay, but in general, I don't care much for him anymore. It's one thing to be a smartass, but it's another to be a nerdy smartass.

One thing hasn't been mentioned: This song isn't even a single.
"Landed", however, is the first single from Songs for Silverman. It's more representative of how Ben is typically like.
"Rockin' the Suburbs" was satirical, and it doesn't matter when you're nerdy if you're right; however, that's not really the brand of what the album was, in spite naming the album after that song. But I think it's good on its own right; you can't go wrong with someone totally talented musically and lyrically to me.
