I believe this song was only released to cater to their core audience, who I assume would like Audioslave to release an edgier, harder song to radio and as a single. Releasing an essential ballad, "Be Yourself", as a first single is not commonplace these days, especially among alternative staple-artists such as Audioslave. They weren't going to promote "Your Time Has Come" much further, and, let's face it, it probably wasn't going to chart much higher, either.
To me, "Your Time Has Come" pales in comparison to "Cochise". It really seems like a weak imitation of the latter, to be honest. Other artists to try Audioslave's strategy were Creed, by releasing "Bullets", which only peaked at #25 or so but did well at Active Rock, and Nickelback by releasing "Because Of You", which only peaked around #40 but did well on Active Rock as well. Not that I'm comparing Audioslave with Nickelback and Creed, but simply for the fact that other artists have tried it.
With "Doesn't Remind Me", Audioslave have finally found their sound. It can appeal to their hard rock audience (the chorus) and those who simply want to hear a good melody (the verses), while it has all the ingredients of what has made them successful so far (Morello's guitar solo in the bridge). "Doesn't Remind Me" is much superior, and I believe Audioslave's strategy has worked.

Is there a video for this? Yeah, but it's not much. Just some highlights from their trip to Cuba interspersed with other footage. Big yawner, IMO.

I saw it Saturday night on MTV2 and thought it was one of their 2 or 3 better videos. The footage was really well corralled, I thought. Really? I don't know, I guess I was expecting too much from it. (My mind came up with a great chase video that's probably too similar to "Show Me How To Live"). So, when I saw it was just concert footage and other clips, it was a major letdown. I mean, I wasn't really expecting what my mind had conjured up, but I figured they'd at least put some more effort into it. If I gave it a fairer look though (and I've never changed the channel on the video anyway, especially since I seldom hear the song anymore) the parts early on where they mix the color into the footage were kinda cool, and for some reason I liked those quirky close-ups of Cornell as he turns his head. Also, the rapid-fire stills during the bridge seemed appropriate and well-timed.

I liked the color mixing parts as well, and off the top of my head, I remember liking the parts where Tom's dancing with that little Cuban girl, where they all have these crude caricatures drawn of their full-body profiles, and where Tim keeps crashing his bike.

Apparently 30 Seconds to Mars will be supporting the Audioslave tour along with Seether.
There's apparently no word on Kasabian now.

Damn, I wish I could see that show. But I'm already planning to see Our Lady Peace with Augustana and Breaking Benjamin with Smile Empty Soul and 10 Years. Too many tours!

Its all that damn Walt Disney's fault! If he hadn't created the happiest place on Earth, no bands would ever come here ;)
