Already? They're releasing a second single before the album is out?
Apparently this song sounds a lot like Cochise.

Wow, that was fast. I guess they are doing this to get people to buy the album.
Has the video for their first single come out yet?

I think this is a smart move on their part. While Be Yourself was good enough for me to buy the album, if they release something a little less mainstream they shore up their rock/alternative fan base. Even with it hitting number 1 pretty much across the board, I know a lot of people weren't real happy with the song.
Having said that, I think Audioslave is a lock to have their second album sell very well no matter what they do.

I also agree with this early second single release strategy.
Now they can transfer "Be Yourself" attention toward Hot AC and CHR/Pop, and release something considerably tougher to their chief formats, which carried their first album through multi-plainum status.
Noramlly releasing a second single before an album comes out is a bad move, but in this case, I believe this is a wise move.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Noramlly releasing a second single before an album comes out is a bad move I can't think of an example where having two singles in rotation before the release date served as a bad move. In fact, it almost always resulted in a huge opening week (50 Cent, Usher, Kanye West, Outkast, etc. and among rock artists: Staind [It's Been Awhile and Outside] and Limp Bizkit (Rollin' and My Generation), but I don't know of any other rock acts who tried this) I don't understand why record companies don't try this more often.

Evanescence also did this I believe. At least, I remember some radio stations jumping on "Going Under" before the album's release.
I don't disagree with releasing another single so quickly, since "Be Yourself" might fall below #20 before going recurrent. But I'm against it for two reasons.
1) I'd rather wait until the album comes out to hear more material from it.
2) I'd rather the label give radio a chance to choose the second single (like they did with "Like A Stone") than choose it for them. Or hell, just release it under the table by leaking it, if that's what they usually do.

I'm pretty sure "Going Under" wasn't pushed until a couple of months after the album release.

All I can say is that this song is not "Cochise" and nothing similar. I see this track too mainstream. I like it, but now I don't think that this is a good song for a second single... it sounds to me like the third or fourth single, although I haven't listen to the rest of the album yet.

I don't think this sounds like "Cochise". It just sounds like Audioslave.

I don't think this sounds like "Cochise". It just sounds like Audioslave. Exactly. In fact, it reminded me a little bit of "My Wave" by Soundgarden. But yeah, I doubt you could two Audioslave songs that sound too much alike, even from this new album.

I only heard half of this and didn't hear "Cochise" at all. "Cochise" is considerably more aggressive.

It reminded me a bit of Cochise but maybe it is that it sounds like Audioslave...

The only part of this song that's anything like "Cochise" is Morello's riffs. Sometimes that's all it takes for those accusations to be brought up, I guess.

One of the best songs this year. Why'd it die away so fast on Active Rock?

One of the best songs this year. Why'd it die away so fast on Active Rock? Probably because they released "Doesn't Remind Me" like a month after this was released. :(

Yeah, the single strategy for this album bugs the shit out of me. Now that I'm finally just about ready to move on from "Be Yourself," "Your Time Has Come" has just been sounding better and better the last few times I've heard it on KNSX. Why the hell couldn't they have waited and then rolled out "Doesn't Remind Me" say, next year?

Audioslave has just announced a headlining tour in the fall featuring Seether and Kasabian.
