Finally, they're back! The All-American Rejects will release their second album called Move Along (due July 12th), the working title was Change Your Mind. Go here: www.allamericanrejects.com/media_music.asp, click on the name of the song and you'll listen to it!

It's alright. It's not as good as "Swing Swing." The chorus falls extremely short. I kind of like the rest of the song. I like the opening riffs. It sounds really 80's at first, but then kind of falls into the faceless pop-punk world of music.

Don't you just love emo? (That wasn't sarcastic, by the way.)
Finally some new All-American Rejects...

Is it just me, or is this getting very little promotion for a band that two decent-sized Alternative hits, including one that crossed over to top 20 on Pop?

It's not as good as "Swing Swing." The chorus falls extremely short. I kind of like the rest of the song. I like the opening riffs. It sounds really 80's at first, but then kind of falls into the faceless pop-punk world of music. While I do think this falls short quite a bit, I also thought Swing Swing was by far the weakest single from the last album...in fact I never could stand that song so I think I'm still partial to this new one over that.

We had this in Canada in 2000. I think we called it Treble Charger. That said, I like Treble Charger, so I like it

it's not bad, but it does have that generic blandness rock sound, the rest of the album would have to blow me away to pick it up.. or to have a low price just like their debut did.

Their new song "Night Drive" has big potential; the beat just screams teen anthem.

I felt kinda duped after buying their first record. And they unfortunately were pretty lame at the Warped Tour.
Does anyone think their singer looks like the Scarecrow in Batman Begins?

This is actually my favorite All-American Rejects song, next to "Time Stands Still." Dissapointed it's not doing better.

This has the potential to be really good, but it somehow falls into blandness along the way.

I am not really a big fan of the band and this was long before this subgenre made me sick. For some reason I always thought that maybe they had some potential. Does anyone think their singer looks like the Scarecrow in Batman Begins? I didn't really think about it until you pointed that out. As a random fact, I know that one of my sisters was actually classmates with Tyson Ritter during high school. The other had a crush on him, though she was a couple years older.

This is WAY better than "Geeks get the girls" but not as good as "Swing, Swing." It's still a pretty goof song though.

I saw a minute of the video on one of those promotional e-card things and it's completely stupid.
Think P.O.D.'s "Youth of the Nation" where everyone holds up cards that express their feelings, except in this one everyone holds up index cards that have their dirty little secrets on them, interspersed with some performance footage.
I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this video.

What up, amigos. I am a new member here, looking to re-energize the sometimes all too serene alternative message boards (although Cherry Crush does do an excellent job herself).

Wasn't "The Geeks Get The Girls" a song by American Hi-Fi? I get those two bands mixed up frequently as well.
I still haven't heard this song, but don't necessarily want to. It looks like their career on alternative is well past over, although a pop-shift (a la Good Charlotte or even Bowling For Soup) is certainly not out of the question. I still would probably hold this band to a little higher standard than those bands, though.
Cheers!!

AAR stand out with a pretty easily identifiable signature sound, do they perhaps change that sound for this song? I haven't heard it yet.

The Scarecrow Cilian Murphy being mistaken for other actors? Come on guys. Same guy in 28 Days Later, and in the coming up movie Red Eye. He, much like AAR, seems unique enough not to make that mistake.

Okay, after listening to the whole album a few times, I have to say Move Along was the song they should've released to Alternative, and I can see that alternative stations have let them know that too. Dirty Little Secret seems Pop from the get go.

There's a website that has a bunch of postcards people sent in. These postcards contain the senders' darkest, deepest, dirtiest secrets. I think the video was inspired by this website. Edited to post the URL. postsecret.blogspot.com/Some of them are hilarious.

I don't see much of a commerical future ahead for this quartet.
Their future will probably be like that of New Found Glory, minus the Alternative play that "All Downhill From Here" got for a limited time.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
