Both Mix 95.7/Philadelphia and Mix 107.3/DC flipped to the "We Play Anything" format today. Philly is now known as "95.7 Ben-FM" while DC keeps the "Mix 107.3" name and airstaff with only the music changing.

The classic hits-hot AC hybrid, right? I listen to Jack, too. :)

The Mix 107.3 situation is a little weird...they had the morning guy "hiJACK" the station, so as far as I know, it's still called Mix, but I'm not sure if it's official or not. My guess is that they'll change the name and what not soon enough, as WRQX did take a hit in the latest ratings.
So there are two predominant trends in flipping radio stations today...Hispanic and Jack/Dave/Ben/Whatever. Here are some of the stations that have flipped to the eclectic name format over the last few months or so.

My guess is that they'll change the name and what not soon enough, as WRQX did take a hit in the latest ratings. WRQX is still "Mix". The morning personality has been directing listeners to vote for "more variety" on the Mix 107.3 website and saying that the station should live up to its "Mix" name. That makes me think the station will still be called Mix. I'm really liking the new sound of Mix. They never played many currents, so the fact that they've opened up their library is a great thing. The recurrents and gold they'd been playing had gotten very tired. DC now has two great Hot ACs, whereas a year ago I would have said they were both mediocre. Z104 has found an identity as an Adult CHR, playing Black Eyed Peas, Jojo, and Nelly in addition to lots of current modern rock and pop. Mix had been very stale, but they sounded great today and I hope they can keep it up.
