We can probably expect a huge Active Rock debut off of this.
It can probably also debut very strongly on Alternative, where Disturbed have enjoyed a lot of longevity with their singles, but being more heavier, I expect Active Rock especially.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

If an unofficial single can make it top 10, I don't see why not. I personally prefer Guarded.

That's unfortunate.

This song rocks and I'm glad that they've kept with the style of Believe, since I think that was the superior album of the prior two. I've heard songs from this album and I think it's going to do very well once it hits, as if the success of this single and Guarded aren't proof enough. I hope that for their next single they choose either Sons Of Plunder or their cover of Land Of Confusion as I think both would do very well.

This is catchy in an "I really can't understand what he's saying" way. Kinda like a lot of Pearl Jam songs.

It's a shame that this is the first "official" single, because I think I prefer "Guarded" and won't get to hear it again for a really long time.
Or maybe it's just that initial impressions of "Guarded" were that it was the potential apex of their recording career thus far and that I'm just not ready for another brand new single already.
If I was a bona fide Disturbed fan, that'd be one thing; I'd be getting the record no questions asked. But I only have a burned copy of The Sickness and maybe the first half is good, with the back half of it mostly not good. I enjoyed the Believe singles fine, but I don't know anyone who owns it, or else I'd have a burned copy of that as well and might better gauge how I should anticipate Ten Thousand Fists. The magazines won't be any help because their records get trashed no matter what. But I feel they have the potential to be a strong modern metal band. We'll see...

Believe and Ten Thousand Fists are both very different from The Sickness. I agree with you that the latter half of The Sickness is only average. The Sickness has a large electronic influence in the songs, while Believe and Ten Thousand Fists are both more like straight hard rock albums, but they're also extremely well done. Both Believe and Ten Thousand Fists are in my opinion far superior to The Sickness, so if all you've heard is that album, then you're not hearing what the band is like now.

I hope they relese the Genesis cover (or is it Phil Collins??) Land Of Confusion. It is KILLER! The album is like Bleieve but it has a lot of electronica in it also.

I agree that they should have stuck with "Guarded" as the first single. However, I'm sure *they* (the programmers or the musicians??) had this planned before they even planned the release of the album. Their sound has become too typical for me - they sound exactly like I would expect them to sound. Not exactly a good thing, but that formula had worked for Green Day under their Nimrod and Warning albums, but again that was a different time. Their songs seem to be formulaic and always end abruptly but predictably. This is okay, but their sound has just become too predictable.
