01 01 01 Me Against The Music Britney Spears f/Madonna 50 -6 56 1(3) 3 And the duo does it again, spending a 3rd week at #1 despite losing 6 points... pretty good hold for both the duos... for Madonna, this is easily her video with the most weeks at #1, cause Hollywood only spent 2 non-consecutive weeks at #1. Also pretty good that the video is still rising up 2 spots to #17 on VH1 & rises 3 to #25 on Muchmusic.... how far can this video go? And this video has finally stopped the pattern of videos spending 2 weeks at #1 in a row;D This pattern first started from: Why Can't I? to My Love Is Like...Wo to Stacy's Mom to Stand and Britney & Madonna have finally broken that curse! Keeping ground on an excellent level indeed Can this video break Jewel's record for the most weeks at #1 with Intuition spending 6 weeks at #1? I have no idea Plus, hooray for Sarah rising! Plus, this week was so not competitive like last week at all :o
Droppers:
02! Stacy's Mom Fountains Of Wayne, #1 for 2 weeks, 7 weeks on chart(this now ties the record for the biggest drop from a chart with Madonna's American Life, which also fell off the chart from #2! :o :o :o) WOW! FOW were very close to being #10 though
07 So Yesterday Hilary Duff, Peak #6, 7 weeks on chart
08 Have A Little Faith In Me Mandy Moore, peak #4, 4 weeks on chart
Summary:
And after they completed doing the double, Britney Spears & Madonna spend a 3rd week at #1 with their incredible Tom & Jerry like chase video with Me Against The Music! Despite them losing 6 points, but most videos lost points here this week So far MATM has not left the #1 spot, only time that could have happened is if Jewel was 1 point ahead of it first week it was at #1(Stand had 37, MATM had 38). As said above, this video now had Madonna's most weeks at #1 with 3 & will probably hold onto the chart for a very long time hopefully. MATM ties the number of weeks Mariah's Bringin' on The Heartbreak spent with also spent 3 weeks at #1, if Britney & Madonna spend 1 more week, they'll tie TLC's Damaged which spent 4 weeks at #1(the video with the second most weeks at #1), will they beat Jewel? Eh, doubt it... but MATM remains chart queen for the moment so we'll have to see if next week, a new video will be crowned for this little thing Now moving onto the #2, amazingly Sarah McLachlan's Fallen rises up 1 spot to #3(at one point it was #1 midweek with only 1 point ahead of Britney/Madonna), but really good for her, I love both the video & the song very very much Really hope Afterglow easily becomes a millionseller for her & that Fallen becomes a natural hit for her like her other previous gems... Can Sarah be able to topple Britney/Madonna next week? Good to also see it rising up 1 spot to #13 on Vh1 this week... Next on: despite it still losing 1 point, Jewel's Stand makes a strange rebound rising back up 2 spots to #3! This week basically had no closeness between points at all. I can see Stand following either a short 8 week stay or a very very very long neverleave like Intuition ;) Great to see Stand hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart this week btw It can stand as a former #1 video & dance song now... And we have the biggest leap of the week! Sheryl Crow's The First Cut Is The Deepest rising up 6 spots to #4! Despite it only gaining 4 points... very good rise for her... I really like the cover & the beautiful simple video for this song. Sad to see the video fall 2 to #15 on Vh1 I wonder if the video will either fizz out or keep on rising into the top 3 But great cover for this song! Next on: the video that's very very stable, Christina Aguilera's The Voice Within only falling 1 spot to #5, despite losing 6 points this week as well... chart run so far: 3-4-5(will it fall to #6 this week), in all fairness, the video can still have the fact that it is still higher than Can't Hold Us Down A very good black & white video for this one... may almost like this song more than Beautiful, whatever And Mya hasn't Fallen either, but she's gotten stuck, staying at #6 despite falling 13 points is a very good hold for her, with those 34 points last week, she would have been much higher than #6 had it not been that competitive And we have the highest debut of the week, Pink's excellent video for "Trouble" debuting at #7! This makes her second chart appearance on the chart: Feel Good Time debuted & peaked at #5, & became a very sizable hit on the chart.... also great to see it rising up 2 spots to #8 this week on VH1 Funnily enough, the 3 marmalade sisters are all ranked together in a row: Christina #5, Mya #6 & Pink #7, now all we needed is Lil'Kim to have a video out already Next on: the band who are the longstayers this week(along with Jewel) despite losing a whooping 11 points rises back up 1 spot to #8! Hey Ya has been able to keep its ground & maintain itself as one of the biggest videos of the year... also rising up 1 spot to #6 this week on VH1... They have excellent hold for this... next up, we have a reentry for Michelle Branch at #9 with her good song for Breathe... chart run so far: 9-10-off-9. Are You Happy Now? peaked at #6 & spent 5 weeks on the chart. Good for her. & finally at the bottom of the chart this week, we see the second debut of the week with Nickelback's Someday debuting at #10. The song's grown on me after I first initally didn't like it, but good for them as well
