... No Doubt's "Push and Shove" debuted at #1 this week. But non #1... My highest debut so far is #26 Evanescence "The Other Side" to go deb-26-33-34-37-off I've not even had my chart for 10 weeks yet so there will be plenty of songs to debut higher than this.

Many #1 debuts in last years, but the last debut in Top 5 w/o hitting #1 was Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary" in 2011. Started at #4, peaked at #3 and had a healthy in the end.
Sugababes' "Round Round" debuted at #2 and stayed there for a few weeks before starting to fall. (2002) Madonna's "American Life" debuted at #7 and peaked at #2 for four weeks. (2003)
Top ten debuts were always rare, most of the biggest instant hits start in the top 20 and the top ten debuts always go #1 in the end. There were 6 top ten entries since this time last year "Die Young" - #7; "Gentleman" - #10; "Burn" - #5; "Roar" - #1; "Applause" - #2; "Aura" - #9. Three of those happened in a single week. "Aura" is not a single (#7 so far) and "Gentleman" peaked in its first week.

On the week starting October 24, 1997, three songs debuted on my Hot 100 at numbers 1, 2 and 3 (the only time this has happened) and they were "Tell Him" by Barbra and Celine, "Butterfly" by Mariah and "Spice Up Your Life" by Spice Girls. Mariah and the girls peaked at the number they entered, so those are the two highest debuts at their peaks.

Highest Debut on my chart to not hit #1 is my second-highest debut ever (behind 4-Week #1 After the Disco - Broken Bells, which entered at #29). I've never had even a Top 25 debut in the 27 week history of my chart.
She Knows debuted at #39 then peaked at #2 for three weeks, stuck behind Happy (which I sort of regret now) and After the Disco.
She Knows - J. Cole ft. Amber Coffman & Cults 39-20-11-6-3-2-2-2-3-9-13-19-23-25-27-36-41-45-53-61-66-73-82-89-97-off
