01 01 01 Me Against The Music Britney Spears f/Madonna 58 8 50 1(4) 4 And Britney & Madonna reach a new peak on the chart! Before 2 weeks ago, 56 points were their peakage but now they were able to have the same peak Jewel's Intuition had too: 58 MATM has now tied TLC's Damaged for the second longest #1 video of all time, as they're only 2 weeks away from tying Jewel's Intuition having the record of 6 weeks at #1. MATM makes a new peak on VH1 too rising up 4 spots to #13 & rises up 4 spots to #21 on Muchmusic Again, this has proven to be one of the biggest videos of 2003... combine the star power of the 2, and you can work wonders if done correctly... and these 2 blondes born brunette have definitely proven that. So far it remains the video to have never left #1, & leaves Sarah McLachlan from a #1 seperating their points by 11... Me Against The Music now had 2X the number of weeks Hollywood tied the chart & 4X the number that American Life did, making Madonna's weeks at #1: 7 weeks, with Jewel having 8 weeks from her 2 videos combined... but overall, another big accomplishment for the pop queens
Droppers:
06 Fallen Mya, Peak #6, 3 weeks on chart
07 Trouble Pink, Peak #7, 1 week on chart
Summary:
And ever since they debuted 4 weeks ago, it seems like Britney & Madonna have never left the crown & they have been pretty comfortable at the top, already breaking the record for the second most weeks at #1 with TLC's Damaged as both have 4 weeks at #1, & only 3 weeks away from having the record all to themselves but they have amazing points this week, the past 3 weeks, Britney & Madonna have always been in the 50+ range! Their combined point total is 202 points which would be a huge figure in the year end chart, if only I had the archives had the board not completely deleted >:( Anyways, very much congrats, congrats, & more congrats for the lead video females of our generation(of course Janet Jackson is nearby) and hope they keep on dancing their way to finish their destined prize! ;) Next on, we have Sarah McLachlan's lovely video for "Fallen"... what an excellent week for her, damn that Toby Keith for blocking her album to USA #1 this week, but yay for her album debuting at #1 in Canada & for her video rising up 3 spots to #10 on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown this week Again, during midweek, this hit #1 for a short time, but she was either 1 point ahead or a very few points ahead... could she do a Coldplay "The Scientist" which the chart run before it got to #1 was: 2-5-2-2-2-1? Who knows.... but with Britney/Madonna, I don't doubt it A very very very excellent triumph for her & she hasn't Fallen on this chart yet luckily Next one up, amazing for Sheryl Crow! The First Cut Is The Deepest rises up 1 spot to #3... adore the simpleness of that video & how it doesn't destine to look glossy but look really laidback & her just chilling out in the rocky cliffs in the US Heehee... Sheryl becomes the first of our 2 covers on the chart, as we have our top debut this week: No Doubt with the FABULOUS, EXCELLENT, & IN NO WAY LESS THAN STUNNING VIDEO for It's My Life... it also zooms up 8 spots to #12 on the VH1 Top 20 countdown... No Doubt are just about my favorite band/group of all time, & Gwen Stefani is definitely the Debbie Harry of our generation... I just love how excellent & stylish she looks in the video & how she tries to kill each one of the bandmembers... whether by carcrashes, poison or electric death by hairdryer in the shower I like the cover much better than the weird original btw... and this is one of their best videos yet... ADORE, ADORE, ADORE.... also, No Doubt become our first of the 2 big debuts of the chart... as our second debut constitutes of the biggest selling female country group of all time, The Dixie Chicks... this isn't the first country video we've had on the chart: i.e. Shania Twain's Up made #6, also Forever & For Always made #3, Brad Praisley's Celebrity made #9 & that Beers For My Horses song made #10 1 week... easily enough this is a good good video... not my favorite Dixie song but very good for them debuting on the chart, I'm pleased for em :) :) So No Doubt & The Dixie Chicks made their career debut on the chart(this chart started in April 2003 & Running did not chart).... next up, after maintaining a top 5 run for so long, Jewel's Stand drops 3 spots to #6, Stand still did very very well for her, one of the biggest video hits of the year, 7 weeks on the chart... only 10 weeks away from matching Intuition's run. Stand's chart run: 8-1-1-2-5-3-6, just about an almost stable chart run ;) Outkast makes an amazing rebound, rising back up another spot to #7 after falling to #9 2 weeks ago... wow... both Jewel & Outkast are the long runners of the week with 7 weeks apiece... and Hey Ya! has done very well for a video that only peaked at #4. The Way You Move didn't do anything close to well as it debuted at #4 & straight fell off the next week & hasn't returned ever since, Hey Ya! rose up 3 spots to #3 on VH1... amazing, don't think Vh1 has ever charted a Hip Hop video that high bar Beyonce's songs in a long long long while... very very very excellent... Hey Ya!: another huge video of 2003 Not good for Christina Aguilera, who's been falling ever since she debuted: her chart run: 3-4-5-8, will there ever be a time where she'll rebound? She started off holding onto the top 5 as well It's a really nice simple video..... young girl, don't cry, I'll be right here right by your side Next up, our last 2 stay completely the same! As Michelle Branch's Breathe stays at #9 for a 3rd week overall! Gaining a point, & to be the back end of our horse, Nickelback's Someday remains at #10 for a second week losing 1 point from last week.
