01 02 01 It's My Life No Doubt 37 -2 39 1(4) 8 WOW, No Doubt regain their #1 status by returning to #1 even though it lost 2 points. This reminds me again of the Britney/Madonna Me Against The Music rebound when it's first 6 weeks on the chart were: 1-1-1-1-2-1... wow. Though of course the song that rebounded the most to #1 was Jewel's Intuition, numerous times. Though on VH1, It's My Life drops 1 spot to #2 after 3 weeks at #1(2 of those weeks from the frozen chart, so) What a great chart run for No Doubt here: 4-6-4-1-1-1-2-1... Only 1 week off the top 5, excellent... though this is the first time a video's been this low with about as many points since Britney & Madonna's "Me Against The Music" which first week point totals were 38 points(and that was only after the video first aired the 4 days previous that Saturday!). Also the lowest point totals It's My Life had on a weekly #1 status: first week they were at #1 they had 63 points, second week 85 points, & third week they had 65 points. 37 points isn't that low, considering that back in the summer time, the average video that got to #1 had 25/35 points! And getting above 40 showed how massive the video was!
Droppers:
10 Me Against The Music Britney Spears f/Madonna, Peak #1 for 5 weeks, 10 weeks total on the chart
Summary:
Wow, what a rebound for No Doubt! Not a very strong chart as it seems, No Doubt follows what Sheryl did the previous week, rising 1 spot to the top spot with a cover song losing points from the previous week before. It's hard to believe that the video has been on the chart for 2 months! Doesn't seem that long for me as I haven't sensed overplay of It's My Life yet It's My Life has had great success for No Doubt, and again became another #1 video for them. Strange enough: the pattern for No Doubt on VH1's Top 20 Countdown since Rock Steady: Hey Baby #1[3 weeks], Hella Good #1[4 weeks], Underneath It All #1[5 weeks], Running #11(funny how this had to ruin their streak of #1's ) & now It's My Life #1[3 weeks or 1 week however you want to count the frozen weeks or not]. Still It's My Life video is still as fabulous as usual, still a great plot... and the video doesn't age a bit! Next up, wow for Blink 182! Despite it losing 4 points from the previous peak, they weirdly rise up 2 spots to #2! Chart run: 3-3-4-4-2! How utterly strange, I expected it to go at #5 with a pattern like that, but still... sorta like Sheryl Crow with her First Cut Is The Deepest: 10-4-3-3-6-2-4-2-1-3. Speaking of which, Sheryl has made it to 10 weeks as well! Cool for her & her GH, even cooler that she also has the #3 position on VH1's Top 20 Countdown after rising 4 spots from the last VH1 chart! Sheryl Crow has held every position on the chart except #5! Also very interesting: she's reached the #1 spot once, the #2 spot twice & the #3 spot 3 times! Interesting little chart bit, very fascinating to see this video last this long & have such a flipflop from the bottom to the top as well! Another video that's having such a great rebound is Alicia Key's You Don't Know My Name rising back up 2 spots to #4 with a 2 point gain from last week! Great to also see it rise 3 spots to #11 on VH1's Top 20 Countdown! Fallin' reached #1 on VH1 for 8 weeks, A Woman's Worth #9 & How Come You Don't Call Me? made #22 on their once VH1 Top 30 Countdown, so You Don't Know My Name is easily doing wonders for her as a comeback single! Interesting chart run for You Don't Know My Name on the VideoChart: 9-7-2-5-6-4, nice to see it having staying power as well, and her album still doing well too. Next up, great for Kelis too! Milkshake stays at #5 gaining 1 point from the previous week, nice! :) "Tasty" is such a great album imo, so many single choices from there. It's chart run: 9-7-10-5-5... interesting to see it fall but suddenly have a charging rise to the top 5? Can it do so for #1? I was shocked to see it as a Flava Of The Week on Vh1's Top 20 Countdown this week as well! :o Next up, Evanescence's My Immortal looks to have set their #3 streak in stone with the video falling 3 spots to #6. As it has also Fallen ;) 1 spot to #10 on VH1's Top 20. Great song, still hope it rebounds & that My Immortal will become as huge as BTML and that they'll be lucky at the Grammy's! :) Next up, even though Me Against The Music falls out of the chart this week, we still have some Madge on the chart as Love Profusion stays hold at #7 this week gaining 1 point from the previous week. The video should air sometime in January so hopefully most people will be able to see how adorable & cute it is! :) And good to see this also being her first chart appearance in 2004, even though it debuted the last week of 2003 last week(4 appearances in 2003: American Life, Hollywood, MATM & LP). I'll count this as a 2003 entry(obviously), though still as a chart video in 2004 though. And related to having alot of chart appearances, OMG, we have the 4th chart appearance from Beyonce on the VideoChart!(Same as Madonna) Technically a chart entry in 2004 for this one even though released in early December 2003. Me Myself & I becomes Beyonce's 4th video on the VideoChart after Crazy In Love[#1(1), 14 weeks], Baby Boy[#2[3], 7 weeks] & Fighting Temptations[#5, 3 weeks on chart]. Me, Myself & I is a very interesting video, the backwards effect mostly does it, if it was being fowards, the video wouldn't have any appeal at all imo... Yay for B! With this many appearances for Beyonce, will we ever have a full Destiny's Child appearance soon? ;) And that Me, Myself & I charged up 11 positions to #9 this week on VH1's Top 20 Countdown! Next up, poor Jessica Simpson, staying at that darned #9 position again with "With You"! Chart run: 9-9-9, can it ever move upwards with her? Sorta like VH1's chart 3 weeks ago, then it being frozen for the next 2 weeks... ouch . And finally, at the bottom end of the chart, we have one of the longest running videos ever on the chart, now tying Beyonce's Crazy In Love as the second longest runner on the chart with 14 weeks, we have Hey Ya!, and to think it only has to last 3 more weeks on the chart to tie Jewel's 17 week run on the chart! ;) Hey Ya has been on for a long long long time, lasting 13 weeks more than The Way You Move which also peaked at #4 on the VideoChart. Interestingly on VH1's Top 20, Hey Ya! fell 3 spots to #5(Peak #1 for 3 weeks), while The Way You Move debuted at a very shockingly high #8 this week! And that's like the first time since I've been watching VH1(back in Fall 2000), that I've seen a debut that high for any video, wow... overall, Outkast are the dominant force of the world at this moment!
