Poor Britney. After "Toxic" spending 9 weeks at #2 behind "My Immortal", Evanescence finally drops from #1... only to see Maroon 5 steal the top spot.
The 12 weeks at #1 for "My Immortal" are tied for second-most all time... behind only "Bring Me to Life".
Beyonce has made quick work of rising up the chart, matching the #10 peak of "Me, Myself, and I" in just its 4th week.
By rising 38-37, Three Days Grace set a new peak for "(I Hate) Everything About You" in its 21st week.
A year and one month after entering the top 200, Switchfoot is still showing legs with "Meant to Live", re-entering the top 50 in its 38th week in the top 100. Whichever song out of "MTL" and "White Flag" (falling 43-57, also in its 38th week) lasts longer might be able to break the record for most weeks in the top 100 (currently 43 by Coldplay's "Clocks").
For the first time in weeks, there is an increase in the number of reporters; four new reporters replace two droppers. With it come re-entries from Finger Eleven, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Staind. Incubus jumps from below the top 200 to notch the second-highest debut at #81, one spot below Alanis Morissette's "Everything".
Among the seven droppers is a 7-month veteran of the chart, Jason Mraz's "You and I Both". It slips below the top 100 after 31 weeks and a #21 peak.

And for the urban side of the commentary, Usher gets closer to #1 up one to #4! Beyonce enters the top 10. Janet takes a big leap into the top 20! "Pulse100 wants you, Janet!"

This Love: 1218 (+44) Toxic: 1161 (-15) My Immortal: 1079 (-99)
Based on points per reporter, "This Love" actually rose 3-1 unbulleted.

(If it's not too much trouble) can you please post the weekly chart positions to date for Switchfoot's "Meant To Live" and Simply Red's "Sunrise"? They've both had remarkably long chart lives considering their current peak positions.

That's not possible based on any system. Oops. It's possible to gain points yet fall behind a song that lost points tho, if you're going by PPR, just as long as the song that lost points also lost a sufficient number of reporters so as to gain in PPR.

I think there's a misunderstanding. "Points per reporter" in my system means the number of points for a song divided by the total number of reporters for the week, not the number of reporters that song has. What you're thinking of is the following: This Love: 1218/30 = 40.6 Toxic: 1161/27 = 43.0 My Immortal: 1079/29 = 37.2
