This chart was compiled from rankings on my personal charts over the summers of 1985 - 1989.. "Summer" consists of having charted between Memorial Day and Labor Day..
Since I was in grade school when the charts were compiled, Therefore for the rest of the summers 1980 - 1984, I compiled the songs based on where they would have charted, had I been doing summer charts at those times in the 80's (although I was only 8 years old in 1984, etc..)
