NO ONE COULD HAVE EXPECTED THIS TO HIT #1...BUT IT DID.
In theory, that headline could have been used for the previous #1, but there's another point to be made with this #1. What's that, and who's #1? Cheaters can scroll to the bottom to find out. Everyone else can bear with me and read through the rest of the chart. :)

All signs point to "goodbye" next week for these two.
48 51 01 Young Buck - Let Me In 48 765 +84
The first of two debuts, but he's not exactly off to a roaring start.
47 52 01 Dashboard Confessional - Vindicated 47 812 +187 *HOT SHOT DEBUT*
Congratulations to Dashboard Confessional for their first debut on the AC Top 50. And it gets Hot Shot Debut honors to boot.
46 50 02 Seether Featuring Amy Lee - Broken 46 918 +231
45 43 09 Tim McGraw - Live Like You Were Dying 41 969 -20
44 49 02 Switchfoot - Dare You to Move 44 984 +216
43 46 03 Modest Mouse - Float On 43 988 +112

41 38 10 Monica - U Should've Known Better 32 1106 -157
40 39 06 Twista Featuring R. Kelly - So Sexy 39 1219 -19
Third Single Syndrome is apparent for Twista here.
39 35 06 Counting Crows - Accidentally in Love 34 1230 -180
This peaked higher than "Big Yellow Taxi" (I forget where that peaked, but it barely scraped the Top 40.), but it's not going to last much longer than that did.
38 34 11 Nickelback - Feelin' Way Too Damn Good 34 1248 -199
This turned out much like "Too Bad" did, except for its chart run. "Too Bad" jumped 47-32 in its second week on, and peaked there.
37 41 03 Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway 37 1251 +198
36 40 03 Bowling For Soup - 1985 36 1268 +131
35 31 17 Britney Spears - Everytime #5 1271 -471
Needless to say, much like on R&R, this is going to outlast "Outrageous". ;)
34 42 03 LL Cool J - Headsprung 34 1317 +283 *POWER PICK*
A jump of eight spots is enough to give him Power Pick honors this week.
33 22 15 Lloyd Banks - On Fire 18 1428 -828
Nicholas 2.0 would award him "Anchor" honors this week. ;)
32 37 04 Akon Featuring Styles P - Locked Up 32 1485 +214
31 28 31 Maroon 5 - This Love #2 1631 -182
30 33 06 Jadakiss Featuring Anthony Hamilton - Why? 30 1637 +112
29 30 15 Kanye West - Jesus Walks 26 1656 -106
He only needs to stay on the chart for 2 more weeks in order to have his longest-running hit. At 15 weeks, he's already lasted "All Falls Down" (14).
28 25 25 Usher - Burn #1 (7) 1702 -452
With "My Boo" all but guaranteed to debut next week (A #29 debut on Billboard and a Top 40 debut on R&R will do wonders for that. ), Usher will set the record for having the most singles on the chart at once. A former co-record holder will be 50 Cent: "In Da Club", "21 Questions", and "P.I.M.P." Note that this record obviously does not count featured appearances.
27 32 09 Alicia Keys Featuring Tony! Toni! Tone! - Diary 27 1802 +98
26 29 10 Lloyd Featuring Ashanti - Southside 26 1854 +46
25 24 24 Petey deleted - Freek-A-Leek 10 1905 -255
24 20 10 D-12 - How Come 19 2041 -491
23 27 07 Ryan Cabrera - On the Way Down 23 2220 +380
22 26 10 Finger Eleven - One Thing 22 2412 +288
21 23 04 Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit 21 2562 +387
20 21 09 Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get it Started 20 2842 +358
19 18 33 Usher Featuring Ludacris & Lil Jon - Yeah #1 (11) 2869 -169
He's passed last year's #1 "Unwell" 's spin total (124107, he has 136018). I think it's obvious by this point that he'll be #1 for this year. At the rate he's going, he could unfortunately go longer than Lifehouse did (39 weeks). But thanks to 3 Doors Down going 46 weeks, I don't think he has a chance in hell at the record. ;)
Also, I have made an interesting observation regarding "Yeah". If anyone wants to know it, PM me.
18 16 15 Los Lonely Boys - Heaven 12 3017 -167
17 14 27 Switchfoot - Meant to Live #9 3280 -180
16 19 10 Avril Lavigne - My Happy Ending 16 3306 +394
"Don't Tell Me" stopped at 16, but this isn't likely to follow suit. ;)
15 17 08 Ciara Featuring Petey deleted - Goodies 15 3494 +406
14 15 10 Terror Squad - Lean Back 14 3590 +210
You'd think that flying up the Billboard chart would cause this to fly up here at insane speed. And you'd be wrong.
13 13 09 Houston Featuring Chingy, I-20, & Nate Dogg - I Like That 13 3702 +97
12 08 17 Usher - Confessions Part II #1 (2) 3857 -307
11 07 24 Hoobastank - The Reason #1 (1) 3982 -182
10 12 09 Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved 10 4024 +226
Clearly the Top 10 is strong, with a threshold just over 4000. But all is not rosy in the Top 10, as you'll see soon enough.
#9 11 08 Lil' Flip Featuring Lea - Sunshine #9 4085 +264
This and "She Will Be Loved" could soon be fighting for #1, given a few weeks.
#8 10 07 Nelly Featuring Jaheim - My Place #8 4114 +286
I think this will be less likely to join the fight for #1.
#7 09 25 Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You #7 4150 +1
She shattered Switchfoot's record of consecutive weeks bulleted, but all signs point to this week being her last with a bullet.
#6 06 17 JoJo - Leave (Get Out) #4 4168 -68
Not a lot to say here, let's move on...
#5 05 14 Juvenile Featuring Soulja Slim - Slow Motion #5 4204 -154
With that downward trend, #5 is as far as he's going.
#4 03 15 Nina Sky Featuring Jabba - Move Ya Body #3 4358 -9
That which has affected recent #1s affected them, too. Except they peaked at #3.
#3 04 13 Ashlee Simpson - Pieces of Me #3 4505 +144
Hmmm...she looks like the top contender to #1, but I wouldn't place guarantees this week. Next week will tell her tale.
#2 01 12 Kevin Lyttle Featuring Spragga Benz - Turn Me On #1 (2) 4557 -57
DO NOT ADJUST YOUR VISION OR YOUR COMPUTER SCREEN. He WAS #1 for the past two weeks. BUT he's not this week...so who is?
#1 02 17 Christina Milian - Dip it Low #1 (1) 4578 -28
See why my headline is what it is? ;)
Her #1 total is the lowest ever recorded. The fact of the matter is, #1s have had weak totals ever since the fallout of the "Burn"-"The Reason" feud for #1. TR spent its week at #1 with 4700-something spins. The next week it lost over 100 and "Confessions Part II" hit #1 with 4600-something. Two weeks later saw Kevin Lyttle hit #1 with around the same total. And now this. What's unfortunate is this trend isn't likely to end soon.
As for how long Christina gets at #1, next week will tell that story, too. I thought she'd be one-and-done, until she moved 7-5 on Billboard's latest chart. Now it's not clear who will come out on top next week.
In theory, that headline could have been used for the previous #1, but there's another point to be made with this #1. What's that, and who's #1? Cheaters can scroll to the bottom to find out. Everyone else can bear with me and read through the rest of the chart. :)
