Goes for adds on August 28th. First single from their new album Transgression, which comes out August 23rd through Calvin/Liquid 8. It's good, although it's different from usual Fear Factory. After how great Archetype was, I'm worried they might be screwing it up with this one.

I don't really like Fear Factory too much.

Fear Factory is one of those bands who I really like, but for me, they're too prolific for their own good. I really enjoy Obsolete, and I ended up buying Digimortal used a year after it came out, but I don't care to go back and buy Demanufacture (or anything before that) and I'm not sure I'll ever get around to getting Archetype. And then who knows as far as the new record's concerned...

Thanks for the link. Huh. After throwing back to their old days with the first single off their previous record just last year, this is just about a 180 opposite: their most accessible single to date. It's hard to know what angle they're going for in this case, but regardless, I dig it.

This may sound like I don't have a clue as to the scene, but I really don't know what these guys sound like. I listen to the format, but I guess not enough to remember really hearing these guys, could be my station too I guess. What's the style similar to?

Fear Factory is a metal band with electronic influences. Usually have a "dead future world" feel to their music. Not that you'd know it from Supernova, which is their most radio-friendly track ever and from their worst album to date.

Sounds like I've missed the boat, this is a type of music I typically really enjoy.

Obsolete is their most consistent album, I feel. On a scale of one to ten, I'd give it a very strong 8.
