Single off of the EA video game soundtrack for Burnout Revenge. This song is also expected to be on their future album which should be out before the end of the year.

Yellowcard's not coming out until early 2006. I'm pretty positive the band has already said that mixing is taking a long time so it's not coming this year. Unfortunate but probably a wise move.

I can't wait to hear new Yellowcard since Ocean Avenue (the album) has become one of my favorites. This band really came out of nowhere to have 3 successful singles since the summer of 2003. They're probably the only pop-punk band I know of that includes a violinist, which makes them have a great-sounding effect like nobody else.

Yes, I am eagerly awaiting the new Yellowcard, and hope they can venture further from the somewhat poppy sound of their last album and start writing some different, more groundbreaking material. Not to take away from their first album, which I enjoyed several listens through. This album is crucial to their future on alternative.

I believe I heard that too. If they did, that really sucks because that's what I think made Yellowcard sort of "different" from the other main pop-punk bands out there right now.

Well, do you mean: A) They got rid of the guy who was playing violin and replaced him with someone else, or B) They got rid of the guy who was playing violin and are no longer incorporating violins in their music? I know this sounds obtruse and nitpick-ish, but I think it's a good point of clarification.

BBut to make things clearer, a DJ said something about Yellowcard replacing their violinist with some other instrument, I can't remember what it was.

I tried searching around the net to see indeed what happened, and there are really no clear answers here. It seems Ben the guitarist "may" have been kicked out of the band, but there were no official comments that I could find.

In a recent interview with the band from And Pop, when asked about their situation with Ben in the band, they wouldn't give any answers because the situation was too "delicate" to talk about right now. They did mention however that he won't be on tour with this fall, if that is any indication of anything.

This is a little bit harder than the singles from their last album and not as catchy.

Just a side note on the subject of members leaving, American Idiot and I saw them yesterday when they played with Acceptance and the violinist was there, so I don't know how that rumor came about.

I like it, but I'm slightly disappointed that I'm not blown away by it.

I heard this twice the other day. It sounded alright. It was catchy and energizing, which is exactly what they needed coming off two consecutive pop crossovers from their previous album. I'm just excited they are out with new material, because I am a huge Yellowcard fan. I also won free tickets at a restaurant my radio station was broadcasting from yesterday. November 20th at the Granada in Lawrence, baby!!! Be there or be square!

I saw Yellowcard last weekend here at UCF's Homecoming Concert. I never expected them to put on such a good show with so much freaking energy. The new songs they played sounded pretty damn good, so I'm really anticipating the new album more now.

It's pretty good... could definitely have been worse, considering they could have gone the easy route and made something really poppy to follow up "Ocean Avenue".

^^^ I already posted the all access link.
So I finally listened to this a few days ago. Not as good as their previous singles IMO. Maybe it'll take me some time to get used to.

I don't like it. I just saw the video on MTV hits, and the song itself is pretty bland.

Here's another band KNDD has decided is alternative (as opposed to last year when they didn't touch anything off of Ocean Avenue). I'm not sure what's caused this reversal of fortune for them and Coheed and Cambria, but I sure ain't complaining. I've only heard this once, but I thought it was on par with any of the three Ocean Avenue singles.

Why shouldn't this be considered alternative? If this isn't alternative, I might give up the genre altogether.
This is ridiculous. If pop-punk bands like Green Day & the Offspring were "alternative", then so should MCR, Fall Out Boy, and this band. My God.
