I have heard this song a bunch of times this weekend. IS it going to be there next single ??? Or is it just because they have two sold out shows in the beginning of December. It's hard to tell. If it is a single I am shocked. If they wanted to make a hit out of a cover song they should've released "Shout 2000" but anyways this blows Genesis's version out of the water

I was wondering the same thing. I heard the song and I liked it at first listen. I know that KXXR (93X) gave it a couple of spins. This should be the next single.

They might have planned to release a different single but LOC is gonna be next. It hear it all the time now on both the rock and alternative stations.

The article I linked to is exactly one week old and mentions nothing of "Land of Confusion." The record company would have to immediately take note of you guys' (and presumably other) radio stations and override this:

But I think I said before it might also be because of there two sold out shows in December

Land Of Confusion is hitting June 27th as the fourth single from Ten Thousand Fists. I think it's a damn good cover, and the video I believe is being made by Todd McFarlane, the same guy responsible for the album's cover in addition to the character Spawn and several other music videos.

I haven't heard it, but I can totally see these guys (and David vocally) pulling it off. I'm guessing they're gonna go with a political bend for the video, although I doubt it'll top Genesis' 1986 video, which I consider one of the best of all-time. Then again, I haven't even seen any of the videos for this album. Times like this make me wish I had Fuse.

This is so funny to me. I remember thinking several years ago how great this song would be as a heavy harder rock song. Now I don't just have to imagine it.

I've been hoping for this since I bought Ten Thousand Fists last year.
It's one thing to cover a song, but these guys took an already great song and kicked it up a notch or two. Unfortunately, it's the fourth single, and the other three only achieved mild success on alternative, although locally (WHRL-Albany, NY), "Stricken" was in heavy rotation for months on end. If it were released as the first single, I think it could have been huge, even top 5 on alternative. Why "Guarded" ever would have been a single, never mind the lead single, is beyond me.
Here's to hoping programmers out there recognize this for how good it is and ignore the fact that the label waited too long to put it out.

Actually, "Guarded" was never an official single. It leaked and stations added it on their own.

Actually, "Guarded" was never an official single. It leaked and stations added it on their own. That's not strictly true. Disturbed themselves said that Guarded was sent to rock and metal stations as a teaser for the album. It was an official unofficial single, so to speak.

The Disturbed blog says "LOC" is the third single. For those who haven't heard the song, here's a link to the song dubbed over the original Genesis video.

I didn't want "LOC" to be the 3rd/4th single, but I had a feeling it was going to be the next release. I wanted them to release "Ten Thousand Fists." Anyway, I think Disturbed did a great job with "Land Of Confusion."

The intro reminds me of "Skin" by Breaking Benjamin.
Very catchy remake. If it weren't for the decrease in spins due to July 4th weekend, this would have nearly a +300 bullet. Pretty amazing for a "fourth" single following a #23-peaking release. Have they finished the video yet?

Yes. music.aol.com/franchise/firstviewHoly shit, great video. Love how they recreated the album cover by including all those people. Go Smile Head go! Destroy that man made out of money! Disturbed needs a video game now.

I couldn't get the video to work... although if it is a Bush-bashing video, I'm sure we'll be seeing it on MTV pretty soon.

It's not really Bush-bashing specifically, unless you want to imagine that one of the guys sitting around the table in the video is supposed to be Bush.

I couldn't get the video to work... although if it is a Bush-bashing video, I'm sure we'll be seeing it on MTV pretty soon. Remember when MTV stated that Trent Reznor couldn't perform a concert with a giant Bush picture in the background, and he basically told them to go f**k off and refused to perform? (Sorry, don't know how to multi-quote on this board...) I've never seen any politically charged videos on MTV, even System of a Down's "Hypnotize". Did they even show "American Idiot"? (Probably did).

Did they even show "American Idiot"? (Probably did). Yeah, they must have because I was watching a repeat of the 2005 VMAs and that song won the award for viewers choice, but I wouldn't know since I never watch MTV. Fuse is the shizzle.

MTV and VH1 played both "American Idiot" and "Hypnotize". MTV also played Eminem's "Mosh" in high rotation for a few weeks right after the elections. And yeah, I doubt I'd watch much MTV either if I were able to receive Fuse on my basic cable service. Edit: I wasn't all that serious about MTV playing "LOC" -- Disturbed doesn't have any kind of history there anyway. (Although Godsmack's "Speak" made it to low rotation on VH1 a couple of months ago... definitely surprised at that.) It's not really Bush-bashing specifically, unless you want to imagine that one of the guys sitting around the table in the video is supposed to be Bush. Well, I used the phrase from the link to the video you posted here. And since I believe this is a straight cover of the Genesis song (no lyrics changes), the song itself couldn't possibly be anti-Bush since it was made before even the first Bush took office.

A decent cover. But, the thing is...I love the original LOC, so the chances of any cover being better than it are about equivalent with that of the planets aligning.

An interesting thing happened last night...I was listening to 102.1 WLEW (Thumb area Hot AC, but the playlist is very much like a "Jack" station), and I heard the original "Land of Confusion". When it was done, I turned the dial to 101.5 WWBN (Flint's Active Rock)...and the Disturbed cover started up. :o
