Yay, June's over. Updated my post to include stats. Some interesting results, to say the least. Some things just can't be helped. Hahah what was wrong with that lol? My month was WACK. I had a three way tie Anyways, Nickelback got today's song of the day with "Deep" and so they have a SOTD for 7 months straight now, and every month except December since I started this thing. BTW, I like your idea of "yearly leader" (the idea). Nickelback is my yearly leader with 23 times.

Yay @ two pages. Now, if only those people who posted two days worth of songs kept updating their lists... ;)

Another month has gone and past. No ties this time, yay! Instead, a Christian rock hit from 2005 dominated the month. How random! Omg @ my SOTD for August 1. My friends wouldn't change the station while we were driving, despite me begging. :( It was an accident. I swear!

I don't know about that. If I don't like a song, no amount of repeated listening would make me like it enough to be the "Song Of The Day" ;)

The song that is stuck in my head the most during the day winds up as song of the day. Unfortunately, sometimes the most annoying songs are catchy.
But the good news is that it's only the second SOTD that I truly hate. The first was Kelly Rowland's "Like This" (way back on June 5).

I do it the same way. I had another tie again for July. R.E.M. and The Goo Goo Dolls had four each. Neither of those had had any success before, and R.E.M. never even had a SOTD before. Maroon 5 had 3 songs in July, and so did Nickelback.

^ Thanks! I must've missed that post. I agree, it was totally random, just like yours. Although it does make sense The Goo Goo Dolls did well, since thier new song is at #1 on my personal chart. But R.E.M. was pretty weird . I already have a tie Daughtry and Matchbox Twenty both have 2, but I'm hoping the tie gets broken. BTW, who's Hurricane Chris? ???

^Turn on your radio, find your local rhythmic station, and wait five minutes. You'll get your answer soon enough.

sorry i haven't actually been keeping up with this, with radio on for 8 hours at work it makes it a little bit complicated to keep a song in my head... i will probably try to remember this thread though.

Maroon 5 have become the third most successful artist of all-time on my "song of the day" project. The most impressive thing is- they got all 21 songs off of the same album. sorry i haven't actually been keeping up with this, with radio on for 8 hours at work it makes it a little bit complicated to keep a song in my head... i will probably try to remember this thread though. I know exactly what you mean. During the school year, my song of the day is basically song of the school day. Since I can't listen to music from about 7:30 untill 2:00 each day. If I were listening to music all day, I probably couldn't do this as accuratly.

Since I started school, I haven't been able to keep up with this. I hear like, three songs at the same time, all the time. Our now, the music from the guy down the hall on the right, and the music from the guy down the hall on the left. I can't do SOTD with all this.

Maroon 5 has now tied Matchbox Twenty as the 2nd most successful artist on my "song of the day", with thier 23rd time.
Maroon 5 and Daughtry have been big hitters since the spring, but now they're starting to get September in a chokehold. No burns in sight.

For the very first time this year, I had to back-track. As a result, John Mayer enters the all-time list.

I finally got back to this. College was a weird adjustment, musically. So, there are huge chunks in the middle, but I think I'm back on track. These past few days caused a shakeup on the year-to-date tallies, so Timbaland knocks Nelly off both charts.

When I started the year for 2007, I was making a daily top 10. I didn't post it anywhere, it was just my personal little thing and held no weight over my weekly chart at all... it was just a way for me to look back at the week and what I listened to and liked a lot.
The only thing I really keep now is a list for new songs. If I hear a new song on the radio and need to get it, or about a new single, etc, and I'm not home, I'll write it down on a little note that I stick in my wallet. Comes in handy.

Well, that's it for September. Even having skipped three weeks worth of SOTDs, Timbaland still managed to break the record for the most SOTDs in a month (10 days). And Time easily scored the Song of the Month title, spending its sixth consecutive day as SOTD today.
Can it get a seventh day, tying Tim's other smash hit, The Way I Are? More importantly, can it get an eighth day to beat TWIA? Only "time" will tell. ;)

Maroon 5 lead September with 6 days, the same amount as they did in August when they were the leader. Now, very rarely do I have a "monthly leader" on the 3rd day of the month, but Maroon 5 already have 2. Could they possibly be the October leaders as well? And with even more days than they did in August or September? Maybe... Only "time" will tell. ;) Well, I see that hasn't happened. :) My all-time song of the day is "How to Save a Life" by The Fray, with 16 days. Do you think "Time" could eventually get that much?

The only way I can see Time getting a lot more days at the top is if it becomes a single. Otherwise, I'm somewhat burned out on Time (from a music player standpoint).
That's what happened to TWIA. It caught my attention before it took off as a single, then it got a few more days when I started to hear it on the radio. And the OneRepublic remix helped it out a ton.

Well, it looks as if Timbaland is probably your core artist, just like Nickelback is mine.
And Matchbox Twenty is tied with Maroon 5 right now at two apiece. This could be an exciting month for me. :)

I'm really surprised by Timbaland's success on my chart. I expected Nelly to take this year easily. She was ahead early on. Then it looked like Rihanna would tie her. Then, Timbaland just blew past both of them. I guess I'm just a big fan of his productions (not so much his vocals). He's got his name on every damn song that I like. So, he looks like he has a strong lead. Wow, I've got to listen to Maroon 5's entire CD. It sounds like you enjoy most of it.

That's why I don't count "featured" artists, although JT probably deserves it on "Ayo Technology", and I don't know what I'll do for "Into the Night".
Yeah, Maroon 5's CD is excellent. I enjoy every song on it. :) Of the 12 songs on it, 9 of them have been a song of the day.
This year for me is pretty close now that I look at it. Nickelback, 27 times Maroon 5, 26 times

Well, whaddaya know? Maroon 5 finally get a SOTD that is NOT from thier sophmore album. Thier classic "She Will be Loved" from 2004 was my Song of the day today, putting them as the monthly leader as of right now.
They are 2nd all time, and tied with Nickelback for the "Artist of the year".

Stronger comes out of nowhere to tie The Way I Are for Song of the Year, each with 7 days. I actually predicted Stronger to be the Song of the Year in early July, when I got hooked on the song, and it got SOTD for three days in a row. I expected it to have a crazy, week-long reign, at least. When it peaked at three days, I thought it was over. This was before downloading it, however. It's a great song to come on while I'm at the gym. It always stands out among the other songs I hear on any given day. I can guarantee that this won't be Stronger's last SOTD. And as for KP, down with Nicklelback! Give M5 a turn at the top.

Where does "Time" fit in in the discussion? And is TWIA even catchy to you anymore? Maroon 5 still have to get about 20 more SOTDs to be the all-time leader, and that's assuming Nickelback get NONE. I don't see it happening.

The original version of TWIA is not catchy at all anymore. Unless radio starts playing the OneRepublic remix, or at least, the label makes it available for download, I don't see TWIA getting anymore days at the top.
Time has a better chance than TWIA in the end. I think Stronger will edge both out, but I can see Time putting up a fight.

Yup, still a tie. Stronger, The Way I Are, and Time all have seven SOTDs. But I'm still convinced Stronger will runaway with this one. It's been a finalist everyday this past week.
