I reckon that J Records would prolly be the best place for Brandy to make new music with. I'm sure Clive would do her justice.
What do you all think?
BTW, Does anyone know what labels are interested in her?

She should sign to Ron Artest's label.

Her last album was a dismal failure without a single hit single. Any record label would be crazy to sign her!

Hope she's not going to J since they make thier artist sounds boring. Example: Fantasia.... Brandy should go to Clive.

I don't think it matters. People just aren't interested in Brandy anymore (unfortunately). To me, it looked like she did quite a lot of promotion for Afro..., especially for an R&B artist. She had her own morning mini-concert, was performing on various TV shows, had some MTV, BET and VH1 airplay, plugged her album on award shows, and even had a promo spot on MTV to plug the VMAs. I mean, someone like Monica or Mya could only dream of that kind of promotion. But it's even sadder that WITHOUT that promotion, they both outsold her. Sure, Mya and Monica had hit singles, but a known name like Brandy should be able to move ATLEAST 500K with the biggest flop single of their career (which Talk About Our Love wasn't)!
She just isn't IT anymore, for some reason. I don't understand it because her album was actually passable, in terms of quality.

I agree with J, but because I don't want to hear her ever again and J is the most incompetent label out there.

No J Records!! It's TOO crowded with R&B artists, with Alicia Keys being the priority artist. I can see Brandy at Geffen or Def Jam. Her career isn't over just stalled.

I've been saying that for quite sometime now. i'm glad I'm not the only person who realized how much promotion she had for her album.

According to Sirius radio, Brandy has signed to JIVE.

I heard about that. i was going to post the article but I am still unsure about the authenticity of it. When she got out of her contract with Atlantic it was on major news sources, so her signing with Jive would also b eon those same major outlets as well. So i'm kind of skeptical. But from what i read, she is suppsoed to be recording now and releasing a new album in 2005. She is supposidly back with Rodney Jerkins (is anyone surprised??) Timbaland, Rich harrison and some others. This album is supposed to be more hip hop influenced.
I guess Brandy regretted not getting a song like "Lose My Breath."

it is weird how poorly she did, the album was great... radio was not behind her, even though other media outlets were. it's true, she got more promotion than Monica, hands down, and Monica cleaned the floor with her. Monica practically sold more albums from the success of "U Should've Known Better" (which did 1,000 better than "Talk About Our Love") than Brandy did lol. And that was her third single, a year after the album's release!
Jive is a good choice for Brandy. I don't know if she'll be "forgiven" for having such a true flop though.
The best thing said in this thread was about labels prioritizing their artists--- that can make or break careers! It's better to be on a smaller label, even if it's not as good, if you're their priority. That's what held Monica back from doing even better (nothing but love for you, Alicia). Glad that Faith Evans is Capitol's female R&B singer.

I can't think of a particular company. Just one she knows is reputable.

I think Jive is a good choice for her, too, but I still can't see her being a priority there. She will get promotion, but the label will always remember her previous flop and that will hold them back from doing TOO much, in order to protect themselves from another disaster. Sad, but true. This is why I'm glad Janet is on Virgin. She may have stumbled a bit this year, but she is their only female superstar and she IS their priority.
