Amazing song & I love the black & white video(perhaps even more than The Scientist)... The 4th single from "A Rush of Blood To The Head", and great as usual... How'd I rank the singles so far: 1)"God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" 2)"The Scientist" 3)"Clocks" 4)"In My Place"

Love the song and video.
Hector, this is a current song. Did you think you were posting in Music News? :)

Hehe... just wanted opinions on this amazing song And I'm glad this is finally released... sure it won't be a radio hit, but neither was "The Scientist" really... so it won't matter much ;)

that song is much better than "clocks"
1) "In my place" 2) "The Scientist" 3) "Go put a smile upon your face"
4) "Clocks"

This actually isn't being released to Alternative. "Moses" (a song I'm not sure where it's coming from) is going for adds in a few weeks.
Which makes two Coldplay songs that charted on the R&R/Pulse 100 as album tracks ("The Scientist" charted a few months before its US release).

Yes, the song is excellent. However, I thought the video was not that good. I mean, the black and white was cool, but I don't understand the point of it. I mean, who was that guy who disappeared? Was he some kind of businessman or something? I only saw it once so maybe if I saw it again I'll get it. I guess the only way I'd like the video was if it were on a New York subway. That was where I first listened to the album, on the way to school, and it just fit the environment.
But why aren't they releasing it to alternative? It seems like there'd be no point releasing it at all if it's not going there. However, I am really curious about this song "Moses". I understand K-Rock was/is playing this for a while.

I love this song, it's one of my favorites on their album, actually. I think it maybe could have been better though. I would prefer to see "Politik" released, since it's even better.
I hear that "Moses" was a song that they did at Weenie Roast when I made a topic on it in the R&R days.
I also saw a song played called "Lips Like Sugar" on Mediabase. Is this an Echo & The Bunnymen cover?

Not to imply that I don't like this song because I do, but they have released seven singles from both of their full length albums, and this song is ranked at number 7 without a bullet for me.

Like I said in the report card topic... what an awful awful mess of a song this is. It sounds like a 3 year old banging on a tin can with a whiny dude reading generic 1950's pick up lines over it. After "Clocks" and "The Scientist," this was a huge disappointment and they're once again living up to their title of most critically overrated band. Overall, the band's not horrible, but bands that get praise like they do shouldn't be releasing as high of a ratio of horrible songs as they do.

This is the first song of theirs that I have liked since "Trouble".

This song is rather dull and boring. It's my least favorite song I've heard from them.

The song is... bah! I tried my best to get into the song but I was probably having some difficulty... The video is rather confusing... Depressions leading to disappearance of spirit?

Good song, as are all the songs on the album, but by far the best is "Clocks". I heard "Moses" once, and I think I like it better than most of their songs except "Clocks.
