Here is an unbiased ;) review of TLC's greatest hits album
Now & Forever: The Hits. All the songs on the album are radio edits (except for Kick Your Game & No Scrubs, dirty versions). They are all edited for time.
TLC: NOW & FOREVER - THE HITS
International release dates: Nov. 24 & 25, 2003
Tentative United States release date: Feb. 3, 20041.
Aint 2 Proud 2 Beg - Woo! Flashback! Not the album version, but the radio edit. I often catch myself filling in the missing parts in the beginning.. "1992... TLC kickin off in yo motha beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep"
2.
What About Your Friends - Radio edit.. You know the deal.
3.
Hat 2 Da Back - Really glad they included this one... as it hadn't looked certain that they would! Awesome.
4.
Get It Up - Hot jam from the Janet Jackson movie POETIC JUSTICE. An edited version of the album version & a little shorter
5.
Baby-Baby-Baby - One of my favorites ever.. yep.
5.
Creep - Great way to begin the CrazySexyCool era of the CD
6.
Red Light Special - The radio edit... hot slow jam.
7.
Waterfalls - The radio edit here as hell... less chorus'
8.
Diggin On You - The "forgotten" TLC single which never gets any recurrent/gold play.
9.
Kick Your Game - Wasn't a hit single, but a hot promo single on Rhythmic. The remix was hot on rhythmic stations and often "in the mixes"
10.
Silly Ho - Whoot! Whoot! Whoot Whoot! A nice way to begin the FanMail era... with this edited track.
11.
No Scrubs (Rap Version) - Rap Version!? :o Finally! Yes.. Left Eye in all her rappin' glory
12.
Unpretty - Radio edit here.. Great song. You know the deal.
13.
Come Get Some f/ Lil' Jon & Sean Paul of the YoungBloodZ - The new single... the first female crunk smash! ATL is where it's at on this track... a different sound for TLC
14.
Girl Talk - A newly re-recorded version with new vocals, beat... and some cool effects! Sounds great.
15.
Damaged - Another newly re-recorded version... sounds softer, gentle. The "weird chinese sound" was taken out.
16.
Whoop De Woo - A new previously unreleased track that TLC did to include on this album. The rap may sound familar as it was used in Toni Braxton's "Gimme Some" and TLC's "I Need That".. Although Left Eye's voice is different in every rap. hmm
17.
In Your Arms Tonight - NO idea whatsoever why this is on here. It wasn't even a single or a promo single, and it wasn't even a hit. Weird.
18.
Turntable - The tribute song to Left Eye to finish it off.
BONUS DVD:
1. Aint 2 Proud 2 Beg - The first video!
2. Creep - Do you still remember the dance?
3. Waterfalls - Still remember the rap?
4. No Scrubs - Now you can learn how to do the "DVD on TV screens" movement
5. Unpretty - Awesome video... probably my favorite.
Although one of my favorites "Dear Lie" was left off... this is a great collection of hits for the best selling female group of all-time. Go TT, LeLe and RoRo! :)
