I think Britney was the biggest snubbed artist out of those nominated...and Ashlee was the biggest snub out of those NOT nominated.

Damien Rice.
Cannonball deserved a Song of the Year nomination, and he also deserved a Best New Artist nomination and something for his album O. I'm disappointed that his talent is always overlooked. He's so refreshing.

Songs About Jane was released in 2002, so it was not eligible for any of the album categories. "This Love" was definitely ripped off though...

And with all her controversy, they woud have lost alot more credibility by nominating her. But I dont think they would have nominated her anyway, they have yet to nominate her goofy sister. The Grammys always seems to have favorites. certain people they never recognize fully. They have done Janet Jackson wrong with every album. "All for u" was snubbed in the record of they year category. it was one of the biggest records of 2001, and giving it the best dance recording award didnt make up for not nominating it for record of the year. Sometimes the Grammys really suck >:(

I think Ashlee was pretty much a guarantee for at least one nomination until...well, until all her credibility was washed away I dont think she deserved nominations, but I think she would have gotten them.

I never thought I would be commenting on this topic, considering I am a country music fan, and Pop or R&B are mainly discussed, but I just saw Avril Lavigne perform on Conan Obrian and she was amazing.
How did she not get a nomination in the Pop categorie. She should have been female pop for "My Happy Ending".

Whiskey Lullaby really should have been nominated. I find it strange ecspecially when you consider how much the Grammy's have honored Allison in the past. You are right as far as I am concerned about that.

i think avril lavigne and "this love" were snubbed. i would have luved it if kelly clarkson was also nominated for female pop vocal performance. the people nominated in that category are a huge question mark to me.

Britney was the main one that they snubbed, Avril was also ripped as was Kelly. X-tina should have gotten a nomination for TWV and even though I don't like Jessica she still should have got nominated atleast once.

Patti Smith should've received at least one nomination for something from her album Trampin'.
I'm glad they gave nominations to Bjork and PJ Harvey at least.
Loretta Lynn's album should've easily been nominated for album of the year. I'm glad she received country nominations. I hope she wins.

Defintely "Whiskey Lullaby" was snubbed. I can't understand that one either. I would think that WL is the typ e of song the grammy voters would go gaga over. I think Ashlee should've atleast got a nomination for POM. JoJo was sunbbed in BNA for Los Lonely Boys & Maroon 5 (who aren't even new. I was charting their music since 2002 ) Avril should've got nominated for MHE

Delta Goodrem to help her U.S. crossover! :) "Colors" (Australian tourism theme song) could have been nominated for "Best Song."

TAMYRA GRAY was ripped off ! she had so many great songs on her album that could have been nominated in several catagories because of the variety in styles of music on her album that showed off the versatility in her incredible talent.

it's dumb that they put Teena Marie in there and not traditional... and i like "u-haul" but it wasn't too special. They like snubbing monica, apparently. but then again, that song may not have been eligible, i'm not positive. at least they didn't nominate any of monica's peers, the category is glutted with veterans and neo-soul artists.

Avril Lavigne. Definitely. Under My Skin was awesome.
Ryan Cabrera and JoJo both could've been nominations for Best New Artist, IMO.
And...I can't think of any others. :)
