The new single version is much better than the original album version that the band didn't like much...
Plus, I love the black & white video of it all... beautifully shot... easily beats BTML & Going Under by a landslide...

I agree with you. It is a beautiful, simplistic, and symbolic video. I loved the whole theme of the video.
Amy is dead and looking lovely I might add ;).
Ben is lonely after her passing and plays the piano part as if he's making some sort of spiritual connection. He walks through the town looking at all of the places that Ben and Amy used to be around.
The best part of the video was when Amy was walking around that fountain counterclockwise - I thought this part symbolized that Amy wished she could turn back time and come back to life.
This song and Bring Me to Life are two of the many reasons why this is my favorite band.

I don't care for the new version. The strings during the bridge were what helped make the song so pretty, and now they're replaced with guitars and drums that last for like, what? 20 seconds? If you're not going to add the rock instruments until that late in the song, don't even bother.
The video is pretty and artistic, but I don't like it as much as I would if Ben hadn't quit and if the song's choice as a single weren't cementing their status as a pop band.

The instruments kick in around the 3:04 point and fade around 3:48, so about 45 seconds. I can't really think of another point where the rock part could have effectively been introduced though, so I'm fine with it. I understand the sentiments in your second paragraph, but it doesn't affect how I like the song.

This song and video is great!! Totally unexpected. It showcases Amy's voice very well.

I was working on the computer and VH1 was on in my living room, and I heard the song not knowing who or what it was. I just thought, wow this is good, who on earth is this. I was a little embarrassed to see it was Evanescence since I have the album and didn't recognize the song, but I'm still blown away. The video is a great video. I hope this song gets its due.

I don't know why but I always compare this video to The Voice Within. Not just because they are in Black And White but for something else that I just can't lay my finger on.
But I prefer this one so much more to the voice within.

I also compare this video with "The Voice within" simply because they are both so simple (and probably because they debuted the same week on VH1's Top 20). I like the video, but it's my least favorite of theirs.
