These are just questions about songs, what are your opinions on them. There about different songs on the chart. These are of course only opinion questions which means there is no right or wrong answers. 1. Why is Jewel not seeing as much success with "Stand"? 2. Why is Dido struggling? 3. Why did "Going Under" not make the Top 40? 4. Why isn't the All-American Rejects doing well with their second single? 5. Why can't Nelly Furtado see a rapid spins gain like Britney is?

Because it just is.
None of your 12 listed events surprised me. For instance, did anyone really expect Baby Boy NOT to do well?

1. Becasue the song isn't that good
2. Dido's music is somewhat dull for radio. Its good chill-out music, but not radio friendly.
3. I thought it should have too. Probably recurrentitis for BMTL.
4. Never heard the song before
5. Britney has a big hype machine behind her. Nelly Furtado is as known as Fefe Dobson outside the pop music world.

4. Why isn't the All-American Rejects doing well with their second single? "Time Stands Still" is actually their third single. "The Last Song", which was much better, was the second.

Because radio wouldn't know a great song if it hit them in the face. Pop radio has very poor tatse, as proven over and over again.

1. Why is Jewel not seeing as much success with "Stand"? I think because there isn't as much novelty to this one as there was to "Intuition" that pop can latch onto. Or maybe because it isn't too good (I wasn't really impressed the one time I heard it). 2. Why is Dido struggling? It's not like she's a core artist or even something close to one. Before this, she's essentially a one-hit wonder on pop and I guess it doesn't exactly fit in between Christina Aguilera and Lil' Jon. 3. Why did "Going Under" not make the Top 40? I'll go with stations' preoccupation with "Bring Me To Life". I didn't really care one way or another whether it made the top 40 since I loved the song. 4. Why isn't the All-American Rejects doing well with their second single? I assume you're talking about "Time Stands Still". Don't really know, but "Swing Swing", was at best a minor hit, reaching #18, even though it probably went recurrent. But I think "Time Stands Still" is way better than "The Last Song". 5. Why can't Nelly Furtado see a rapid spins gain like Britney is? I think you just need to be more patient. It's still instant impacting. Besides, at the end of the day, I don't see any way she won't outpeak Britney.

1. Why is Jewel not seeing as much success with "Stand"? Because it's not that radio friendly, the song is too pretentious for even the most-apathetic-when-it-comes-to-lyrics pophead, and not to mention the song just plain sucks. 2. Why is Dido struggling? Because most pop listeners would find it boring. If "Hunter" couldn't do anything then this can't either... the only reason "Thank You" was a hit was because of "Stan." 3. Why did "Going Under" not make the Top 40? Because it's not radio friendly. 4. Why isn't the All-American Rejects doing well with their second single? I don't think anyone expected them to do well. 5. Why can't Nelly Furtado see a rapid spins gain like Britney is? Because unlike Britney, Nelly lacks the ability to have screwed Justin Timberlake and be a virgin at the same time.

I agree with you about Jewel. I think it's very radio friendly and it is some of her most amazing lyrics ever!
