So lately I've been playing a lot of her music. I love her voice and the Neptunes seem to save a lot of their most innovative tracks for her.
She is remembered only for 'Caught Out There' (aka 'I Hate You So Much Right Now!') but she's had some amazing songs, and my most recent favorites are 'Popular Thug' with Nas and 'Milkshake'.
Anyone else out there a big fan? I think it's interesting that she gets mentioned a lot in entertainment magazines etc when she was never even a real hit in the US -- although she has done pretty well for herself in the UK.
Last I heard she got out of her Virgin recording contract and signed directly with StarTrax, the Neptunes' record label. Hopefully that means we'll be hearing more from her soon...

When I go out at school, it's impossible to do so without hearing "Milkshake." I think this is strange, because usually at school it takes months for them to get songs, and usually never play anything other than Top 10 H100 hits. LOL (Backwards Pennsylvania ) Anyway, I think she's alright. I'd say "Caught Out There" is the best of what I've heard from her.

Not too familiar with most of her stuff, but I liked "Caught Out There".

I think she also was featured on "Got Your Money" with The ODB. That was the first I ever heard of her, and I thought that song was garbage because of her.
But other than that, I don't mind her at all.

I don't like the photo of her! It's not sexy.
I just heard the song she was featured on the LFO's "Life Is Good" CD!

I am a huge fan. I really liked her last album even though it wasnt released in the US. "Get Even", "Young Fresh N New", & "UFO Man" were some stand outs for me but the album was great overall

She's definitely well-known for "Got Your Money" with ODB, and then "Caught Out There"... but it was her second solo single, "Get Along With You" that made me like her a lot. "Milkshake" is really hot and is getting her quite a bit of attention... she's unique and good at the same time, which is awesome and hard to come by these days.

I love "Caught Out There" and "Milkshake". I can't wait for her new album.

Her breast looks artificial to me.
I've only heard Milkshake from her, and it's a little addictive. I'll give her other singles a listen but I fear she's going to be nothing more than a B-grade artist. When I hear the song I don't think Mary J; I think Truth Hurts.

You have to download 'get along with you' and 'mafia'. they're absolutely stunning. Comparisons with Truth Hurts are entirely unjustified.

She is definitely not a B-Grade artist. She is very underrated. And she always gets great reviews. I think the world needs to find out about her. She is a unique and talented artist. Even though I like Truth Hurts, Kelis can blow her out of the water. You have to listen to her last lp and then tell me if you still think she is b-grade

'Mafia' is probably my favorite song off her first album, brilliant stuff. I wasn't a big fan of most of the stuff on her second album (a little too experimental for my tastes) but it was still good, and the critics agreed.
I can't believe someone just compared her to Truth Hurts.

When was "Mafia" released? I never saw it on TV. I just know of "Caught Out There" and "Get Along With You" from the album. "Caught Out There" and "Got Your Money" at the same time will be the most airplay she gets, and since she didn't make the Top 100 albums then she may never do it.

Mafia was never released as a single actually.
The only song that I know of that she released that we didn't get in the US was 'Good Stuff', which was a great song but I think it sounded a bit too much like 'Got Your Money' to be released here.

I've always loved Kelis, from what I've heard. I'm far from an expert, but if she had an album out, I'd be interested.

Kelis is great. She's a lot better now. But I just loved "Caught Out There." It was so angry!
And now I love her song "Trick Me". It's so nasty!
