Didn't the Dixie Chicks get nominated last year? They wouldn't be eligible (at least not the album or the first 2 singles).

True, and everyone except the XXXTina fans would agree. Did Lenny Kravitz win Song of The Year for American Woman? No! I think it was Male Rock Vocal Performance. That category usually lacks nominees that the Grammy committee would deem worthy, as in Female Rock Vocal which has also been won by Sheryl Crow for a cover before.

I totally forgot about him. "If You're Not The One" deserves Best Pop Male Vocal Performance, such a stupid snub!

Stacie Orrico. I expected more since she was announcing the nominees. "Stuck" and "[There's Gotta Be] More to Life" could of easily been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance. Like I said in another thread, the "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" is going to be one of the toughest categories. With that being said, it was probably very difficult to narrow the field down to 5. I wish there was a bit more room for maybe Liz Phair or even Jewel for that matter. But, the five that are nominated look pretty good to me, with the exception of maybe Kelly Clarkson. All in all, it'll be exciting to see who will actually take it.

Wasn't "Gotta Get Thru This" nominated last year? For "Best Dance Recording"? Who won that category any? No Doubt?

Was Maroon 5 eligible? I think they are an amazing band. Wish they would have been in Best New Artist category.

Just wanted to say that The Matrix NEVER produced any song my Jason Mraz. They co-wrote The Remedy, but the album was produced by John Alagia.

The Dixie Chicks were not snubbed. They didn't release anything that was eligible this year.
"Home" won Country Album last year. Once an album has won a Grammy, every song on the album has won a Grammy. So even the singles released in the eligibility period don't count because the album already won.

Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head won Best Alternative Music Album last year, yet "Clocks" is nominated for Record of the Year this year.

I suppose it's some small consolation that most everyone agrees Monica was snubbed.. she really was. I can't think why the Academy did this. Other than that, as some others have said, this year the Grammys are like the VMAs.
and um, i won't take any criticism from someone named "howiedayfan" seriously.
