I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Predictable wasn't all that great of a choice. I really dislike that song. I hate the way Joel sings it.
Something about the way he emphasizes some of the words really BUGS the hell out of me!

"From the Bottom of my Broken Heart"
We wanted "Born To Make You Happy"
Hell they should have released it instead of "Sometimes" even.

Toni Braxton "Hit The Freeway" ..poor thing, this mess of a song signaled the end of her career :( Out of all the material off from MTAW "Hit The Freeway" was the best choice for a lead single a la "He Wasn't ManEnough". Radio just didn't want to play her. I persoanlly think that the whole beef with Jay Z over the 2pac sample has something to do with it

Avril's "Don't Tell Me". "My Happy Ending" was definately far superior to that track.
I agree on the Mariah singles, as well. Wish that X-Girlfriend were released instead of Crybaby/Can't Take That Away as the third American single.
Wish "Goodies" hadn't been released. That song makes me want to take a bat to the TV screen and the radios when I hear it. Worst song ever recorded. Don't see the appeal of it whatsoever.

Toni Braxton "Hit The Freeway" ..poor thing, this mess of a song signaled the end of her career :( I loved this song...but 2002 was overloaded with Neptunes' songs, and this one sounded too similar to Faith Evan's "Burnin' Up", IMO. This definitely could've done better under different circumstances.

Eamon - "I Don't Want You Back" He belongs in the ' Artists who should've never got signed in the first place, let alone the opportunity to release a single' thread.

lol, i'll agree with that bit on Eamon. First time I heard that song, my ears bled for about 20 minutes. Let him join the ranks of Lumidee and Ashanti in the Hall Of Artists Who Can't Really Sing But REALLY REALLY TRY!

Going from the CD's that I have... Switchfoot-This is Your Life. Gone would have been perfect to release to pop after Dare You To Move or Ammunition would have been perfect to release to Alternative after DYTM. This is Your Life is totally not Alternative enough to fill Alt radio's appetite. Evanescence-Everybody's Fool I'm still baffled by this one. Imaginary blows it out of the water easy. Finger Eleven-Good Times HORRIBLE opening single. One Thing, much as EVERYBODY on this board hates it, saved the album from becoming a complete dud. Complicated Questions would have been a better opening single although considering how poorly they've done in the States, I'm not so sure if they could possibly do anything better Papa Roach-Between Angels and Insects Just plain didn't like the song as much as the other singles. I think Infest or Dead Cell would have done better.
