My vote goes to: MB20's "Last Beautiful Girl." Rob Thomas wanted "Rest Stop," which would have been 15x the song LBG was... geez, just listen to the man, will ya?

Mariah Carey following up TTR with "Boy (I Need You)". Man was that a bad idea

I agree with Mariah's "Boy" ...and I also have to add "Can't Take That Away," "Crybaby," "Butterfly," "Don't Stop," and "Never Too Far".

"Family Man" by Fleetwood Mac wasn't a very good choice from their "Tango In The Night" album.

"Family Man" by Fleetwood Mac wasn't a very good choice from their "Tango In The Night" album. I'll second that. I would have gone with "Isn't It Midnight" but I'm sure they would have rather had a second Lindsey single rather than a third by Christine. If they wanted a Lindsey single, they probably should have gone with the title track. It was already receiving airplay at rock radio. "Family Man" was the worst on that album.

...and I also have to add "Can't Take That Away," "Crybaby," "Butterfly," "Don't Stop," and "Never Too Far". I love all those songs Another song that should've never been released was "Slow" by Kylie Minogue. And Staind was crazy to end with releasing "Zoe Jane" what a crap fest

Clay Aiken "The Way".
The fans completely fucked that one up, and so did RCA for listening.
Jessica Simpson "A Little Bit".
I liked this song, but it was pretty much a bomb and the video was horrible. Hell, even though "Irresistible" the song was a hit, that whole image during that time period was a mistake.
Nelly, "N Dey Say".
I know it's not out yet, but it's supposed to be the next single and I think it's gonna flop.

"Everytime" - Janet Jackson I love this song but there were several other cuts that deserved to be released instead. Like....."my need" "What about" and "velvet rope"
"Everytime" - Britney Spears The song was cute but "shadow" was a better song and there were 5 other songs that deserved to be released after Toxic that could have gone #1 at pop.
"Outrageous" - Brintey Spears When they didnt release this after "toxic" the ship had sailed. They waited too long to release this track and alot of major places had already played it out. Good song but too late with releasing it.

Toni Braxton "Spanish Guitar"
Britney Spears "I'm Not A Girl Not Yet A Women" , "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know"

All of the singles Nelly has released off Sweat. No wonder why the album isn't selling that well. Playa and Grand Hang Out were the obvious stand-out choices, but instead they go with some garbage called Na Na Na and Flap Ya Wings? And Tilt Ya Head Back was OK, but certainly not worthy of being released as a single. Ugh. Also, John Mayer releasing Daughters over Split Screen Sadness and Something's Missing from Heavier Things. Daughters is a fine piece of sugar, but it shouldn't have been a single over other songs. Justin Timberlake releasing Senorita. What a way to close out a very good album. Songs like Let's Take A Ride, Still On My Brain, Take It From Here and Nothin' Else were better choices. Christina Aguilera releasing The Voice Within. It's still a travesty that Get Mine, Get Yours is an album track. There's no justice for that song at all. Janet or Virgin Records (or whomever) leaking Just A Little While. It just set off the wrong impression and it confused people when I Want You hit, too. The song should've never been officially released in the first place if they didn't plan on releasing a video for it in the States. The pop single/urban single thing can be radio suicide. I think they should've just picked ONE song that was more indicative of how the album sounded to set off the right tone. I like both tracks, but it was just too messy. Kylie Minogue's Come Into My World. CRAP song. Should've never been released over hotness like Fever, Love Affair and Dancefloor. Mariah Carey's Loverboy - TRASH!! Is her voice cracking, or is she whispering? I don't know and I don't care. I hate it.

Justin Timberlake releasing justin releasing full stop. the most over-rated artist ever. an to have the audacity after making a name in pop music to cross over to urban an brandish "this is urban re-invernted" on his cd. like the review i read for this cd "whoever re-invents urban has their work cut out for them...and justin timberlake comes no where near". i mean, how many of his songs actually urban charted? the most i saw was 'cry me a river' @ #20 on billboard HH/RNB for 1 week. GO BACK TO YOUR PLASTIC POP WORLD AND RELEASE MORE UBBER-SH*T LIKE "POP" i hope for my and my chidren's ears that his career is 'gone' and hes goes 'bye bye bye' for good

What do you mean Janet should not have released "Everytime"? That's my favorite song by her!
"Til' I Get Over You" by Michelle Branch was the worst single choice ever in the history of music!
"Losing Grip" by Avril Lavigne should not have been released. They should have gone with "My World," "Things I'll Never Say," "Mobile," or "Anything but Ordinary."

No, no, no... Hector, Get Mine, Get Yours wasn't released. I was just saying I wish it was released instead of The Voice Within. Get Mine, Get Yours would've sounded GREAT on the radio, but after the whole Dirrty thing, I'm not sure how radio would've recieved it. I still think it deserved a shot, though!

Yea I know lol. I just threw it in ther cause i love it so much. I think it should have been released as a single though...but I agree that "Dirrty" ruined those chances. I didn't think that "The Voice Within" was a poor choice for a single, I think it ended the "Stripped" era well but i'm a pretty big Xtina fan so im biased

"The Voice Within" actually did pretty well (just missed Top 10 on CHR/Pop), so I don't really think it was a bad single choice. IMO all the singles off Stripped (yes, including Dirrty, though maybe not the video...) were good choices that showed versatility in her style and sound.
Actually releasing "Car Wash" as a single doesn't seem to have gone so well, though...it should've been left on the Shark Tale soundtrack.

Britney Spears
1. Overprotected - one of the worst Britney songs ever.
2. Me Against the Music - this would've been fine as an album track.

I have to agree with Justin Timberlake's Seniorita. Terrible choice for a single, IMO.
I remember being at the Matchbox Twenty concert in 2001 when Last Beautiful Girl was played. I said to my brother that this will probably be the next single from that album cuz it was a favorite. I like Rest Stop, but don't think it's radio material. But it has damn good lyrics!

Britney is the queen of songs that shouldn't have been released. "From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart," "Lucky," "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know," "Overprotected," "Everytime," "Outrageous," "I Love Rock N' Roll" overseas, etc. Not only that, but her singles are always released in bad order. JIVE has been mishandling her from the beginning. Not that she hasn't been successful, but I think it's really hurt her career in the long run.
Madonna - "American Life" - An unforgivable single choice. Horrible!
Christina Aguilera - "Dirrty" and "The Voice Within" - The first was just bad, the second, boring!!
Mary J. Blige - "Love @ 1st Sight" - Whack!
Missy Elliott - "Pass That Dutch" - Sank that entire album.
Mariah Carey - "Loverboy, "Through The Rain," "Boy (I Need You)," "Don't Stop" - Trash them all!
Justin Timbelake - "Senorita" - Pathetic.
Janet Jackson - "Just A Little While" - Horrendous!
Destiny's Child - "Bug-A-Boo" - What the!?
Kylie Minogue - "Come Into My World" - There were better songs on the album.
Alicia Keys - "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" - Leave Prince alone.
Speaking of Prince - "My Name Is Prince" - Naw...

I think GMGY would have been a much better choice for the first single than Dirrty if she wanted to go for a more sexual song. It's one of my favorites from Stripped-so catchy!

This is the king of them for me. Some people argue that this was a decent size hit, but I think it was just riding the success of Oops. Going right to "Stronger" or possibly another cut on the album (which I don't know well) would've helped.

To those discussing Christina Aguilera's release of "The Voice Within," I actually think it was a very good choice. It was a wonderful way to finish off "Stripped," and it's the single that actually made me go out and buy the album. Could just be me, though.
Michelle Branch - "Til I Get Over You" ...instead, she should have released "Find Your Way Back"
Kelly Clarkson - "The Trouble With Love Is" ...instead, she should have released "You Thought Wrong"
Britney Spears - "Outrageous" ...instead, she should have released "The Hook Up"
Ashlee Simpson - "La La" ...instead, she should have released "Better Off"
Good Charlotte - "Predictable" ...instead, they should have released "The Chronicles of Life and Death" or "Ghost of You"
