British megaselling charity record vs the Jackson penned USA equivelent.
I'm not sure. band Aid is genuinely quite good, but USA for Africa is comedy genius. Bruce Springsteins bit is hilarious. It's more of a competition to see who can squeeze the most insane over-earnestness out of the rather trite lyrics. If it was recorded today i'm sure Nickelback & Staind would be involved.

Band Aid, god do I hate "We Are The World". Do They Know It's Christmas is a nice tune... Band Aid 2 had the famous Sonia though...

Both are good, not great. My vote goes to Band Aid

U.S.A. For Africa... any song for charity is a good deed, i admit that i don't like the song "What's Goin' On?" (not necessarily because of any artist, but just i found the effort lackluster).
I think they should try and get something like that out more often then at the current rate... seems the only time we hear stuff like this is when tragedy strikes.
The whole "beef" business is already too old now... i can see things climb all the way back to 2 Pac and Biggie levels, it's sickening. The only reason i mention this is because, it seems to be the only time rappers and/or singers collaborate on anything it's to belittle one another, and quite frankly, that's bogus shit.
