What songs about friendships are so good they can help mend a broken relationship? Or maybe bring the bond even closer.
Here are some: Amanda, "You Don't Stand A Chance": Would you rather have a boyfriend or hanging with your best buds? Let your friend hear this if you want he/she to know where your devotion lies!
Ashley Ballard, "No Matter What"/ "It Was You" (feat/ So Plush) / "I'll Be Waiting": Some of the best songs about friendship can be found on Ms. Ballard's album. They are all about being there for the special friend. I love "No Matter What"... I dedicated it (through email in 2001) to my childhood best friend in Guam. "If the whole world is against you, you know that you have one friend."
Lene Marlin, "Faces"

Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes - "Friends"
I always said TLC should have re-recorded this song for the 3D album instead of using one of the raps from it! T&C could have sung the chorus and Left Eye do the verses... very Ooooohhh... On The TLC Tip. Oh well.
Good jam! Tells how friends stick together through thick and thin and 'till the end :)

I'm not really sure what Kelly Clarkson's "Low" is about, but I think it is about friendship.

Patti Labelle's old "You Are My Friend", of which Faith Evans sang a cover.
It's not very sung about in R&B, not in the way you're looking for ;)

"Best Friend" by Angela Via Several of her fans saved their friendships by sending their ex-friends the lyrics to this song. Amazing. It was so good, it was included on "The Little Vampire" OST, a top 10 box office hit.

I'm not really sure what Kelly Clarkson's "Low" is about, but I think it is about friendship. At least to me, it doesn't. I think it's about a friend who betrayed you. However, it can also be interpreted as a boyfriend/girlfriend who betrayed you so now you're hanging out with friends ("My friends are outside waiting/I gotta go"). Emma Bunton, "We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight" / "I'll Be There": Good friendship songs. The first one is about a night out with your pals!

The first song I thought of was "Lean On Me" by Bill Withers (or Club Nouveau).
