Not counting then-unknown acts, like Jewel, who climbed along with their hits. Established artists who flopped, then had a hit that saved the album.
Jessica Simpson is a good current example. 'In This Skin' was looking very ropey indeed, but 'With You' has totally reversed its decline, and it could go Platinum now.

Christina Aguilera "Stripped".
Although it had decent first week sales, the album was obviously in trouble until they rush released "Beautiful" which pushed the album back into the top 10.
And the follow up singles have helped keep the album from falling out of the top 100 after 15 months.

Kid Rock-"Cocky". This album was considered a flop until "Picture" came out and took the album back to the top of the charts.

The re-release version of J.Lo saved the album by including "I'm Real (Murder Remix)."

The re-release version of J.Lo saved the album by including "I'm Real (Murder Remix)." that's a good example. basically you're asking for albums that weren't succesful until the second single or later... there was a thread recently, i forget what it is, that asked that question, first singles that flopped but the second was a hit.

Whitney's My Love Is Your Love. "When You Believe" flopped and the album only debuted at #13, but a string of hits starting with "Heartbreak Hotel" saved it and allowed it to go 4x platinum.

MercyMe? I don't know how much it sold before "I Can Only Imagine" crossed over but "I Can Only Imagine" certainly helped. B2K's rerelease with "Girlfriend" helped.
