so far i've heard two songs from this disk, and i've added it to my 'buy' list. i've heard hey ya and bowtie and i love both. i like bowtie in particular because it reminds me of george clinton, imo one of funk music's greatest geniuses.
until this album, i was only vaguely aware of outkast, and i think i may have been missing out on some really fun music. if you're a fan, tell me what you think of these new songs and what previous outkast albums you think i might like.

Having given this a pretty good listen now, here's my thoughts.
The Love Below
Very disappointing for me considering how good I thought Hey Ya was. You can't say Andre 3000 didn't experiment with his solo effort, that's for sure. If you like something eclectic, you have it here. I liked about 5 or 6 of the songs on this pretty well, but nothing approached Hey Ya at all. I was hoping for much better.

And then this was a pleasant surprise. I'm not really into Rap, but I've always liked Outkast's style. I expected this to be much more Urban that it was, and I ended up liking most of the songs on this. The Way You Move was another favorite of mine, but for some reason I didn't expect or necessarily want songs in that vein for the album. I thought this album was much more interesting from a production standpoint as well as a musical standpoint.
Overall, the double album is excellent, and I expect it will be looked back on as one of the great classics.

>The Love Below: Ironically, I liked this album more than the other one. Andre3000 experimented with several different genres here, including Rock and Jazz, and the results are excellent. He collaborates with Norah Jones and Kelis and others, but I liked his duet with Norah the best, yes it was short and simple, but that's what stood out to me. Stand-Out Tracks: Hey Ya, Happy Valentines Day, Love Hater, Roses, Prototype, She's Alive, Dracula's Bride.
>Speakerboxxx: This was also a great album, but he seemed to stick a lot more with the original Outkast formula, and while the results were superb, it just didn't seem as good as Andre's. At least he didn't rap about the same topics on every song, which I liked. Stand-Out Tracks: Bowtie, War, Church.
