"Not Today" is a GREAT song, worthy of at least Top 10 status. Instead, it's stalling out in the 30's. Why does radio overlook this stuff (her last two songs flopped too) and play total garbage like Linkin Park?

I'm not a big fan of "Not Today". "Love @ First Sight" was miles better, yet it was a big flop.

She's had good single material for that album, it's getting no radio support and to think that at one point her album was #1 in the country :( She's at the very least slightly underrated.

Mary is done when she says she is done! It's as simple as that. Mary is a living LEGEND and INSTITUTION!

I think Mary J Blige is the most over-rated artist out there, above Britney and anyone else. I never thought she was very good, but she keeps getting passed off as some supposedly great R&B singer etc. I just don't think she is very good. I'm not surprised to see this stalling out at all.

I think Mary is just in a dry spell. After the success of NMD everyone was expecting the best from Mary. It seems atleast in my opinion that her last album is a bunch of crap. Evry artist has times in their career where they are not selling as well or doing as well on the charts. It's a phase. Mary has the talent and the vioce to last for decades

Mary is doing just like she used to do. People expect that since "Family Affair" was a huge crossover, that she is going to continue that. Fact is, that was success during a time where female R&B was doing very well. So Mary was right up there with Blu, J.Lo, and Alicia topping the pop chart. Now most female R&B artists couldn't buy themselves a pop hit.
As far as this album goes though, the singles have been doing better than the "Mary" album and basically the same as the singles from "My Life" and "Share My World". She made the Top 10 at Urban twice with this album. Urban is her home and has always been her home at radio. She has been able to sell over 10 million records in the US on mainly urban airplay.

Mary's definately not done. Rebirth is right..."Family Affair" was a big pop it and people are expecting more "Family Affairs." Mary's doing what shes doing...and what she happens to be doing is obviously only appealing to Rhythmic/Urban audiences. I did expect "Not Today" to fly up the charts with her bullet of +600 a few weeks ag but shes still successful in what she appeals to and will be here for awhile...she is one of the best female R&B artists of all time...

Mary's definately not done. Rebirth is right..."Family Affair" was a big pop it and people are expecting more "Family Affairs." >:( I said that first... anyway There were points in the careers of Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross where they, too, had spells just like this. And both came back for more chart topping singles and albums. So will Mary, she's locked in now to become, like someone else said, an "institution". I think you become one around the time you have your 5th album and you still have hits and sell at least as well as you ever have, not necessarily better.

I don't think she's done either. Flopping on the pop charts doesn't mean anything because she isn't a pop artist. It's like saying Shania Twain is done because she hasn't had a pop hit in a while. She's still doing well on the country charts, which is her target audience. (well maybe she isn't doing so well with her latest CD, but you get my point ) "Love @ First Sight" is a great song! I never liked "Family Affair", I thought it sucked.

"Love At First Site" and "Not Today" are just not pop-friendly, they have good beats, thats about it. "Ooh" was so much more pop-friendly then either two songs, I wish it was released at Pop.

She hasn't done bad enough to say she's done without another album doing worse. The album was a Number 1.
