I don't think there was a topic on this before. There was a similar topic on another artist but not Pink, I don't think, but anyways, what do people see in her that make them think she's all that? I can see what fans would see in Britney and Christina and Mariah and Janet and most others but what is it about Pink that makes her stand out to some people? What has she done specifically that was special? Basically, what's the big deal?

Well, I don't really know, I guess.... well, I'm not really into her much anymore, she's gone down hill, but she used to be one of my favorite female artists, I guess just her style and her music and the way that she represented herself, I think a lot of people could relate to her, all of her stories about high school and such, but all that's over, I don't think she's an attention grabber anymore.

I don't lover her, but I like her. I like how she is always up to new styles which, in my opinion, makes her original.
But it seems to me more people tend to hate her now.

I don't love her, but I like her. me too. i own all 3 albums and theyre good. her attitude sucks though sometimes...but i like her raspy voice, its different... |

Like others have said, I like her voice. And I think her second cd is one of the best albums of the 00's.
Good music, unique voice=bam, attention.
However, Try This has to be one of the biggest disappointments musically in a long time...for me at least

Adonis' opinion is probably the closest to mine so far. ;) I can tolerate her for the most part... I can tolerate her songs I mean but her as a celebrity to me comes off as completely fake and trying too hard to be all hard core or edgy or whatever it is she tries to be.

wotz everyone sayin God Is A DJ is rubbish for. Its a great song with good stuff. At least P!nK writes her own songs and doesnt care what people think about her.
most of the posters on here like solid POP music i.e Xtina, Delta Goodrem etc So they arent going to like it, And for them to slag of P!nk a person they dont no is just childish. Maybe they just need to widen there music tastes and Try This lol

People have such a biased opinion on what pop is, and it cant be more misconcieved. Obviously you haven't read the other Pink topic.  LOL @ MSTK31 I realised something today, Pink songs have good verses, but horrible/annoying choruses. I liked the verses of "Feel good time" and "God is a DJ", but the chorus totally ruins it for me on both songs. Pink is so annoying. |

She got me hooked during heer "There You Go" era. I bought her debut cd and that was all it took. She has an awesome vioce , great vioce , and a banging body. Her second cd was almost as good as her first if not better. She is just fun catchy r&b / pop artist

I'm not exactly a hardcore Pink fan, but I just think she's a good songwriter. When she came out with Missundaztood, I knew she was a force in the pop world to be reckoned with. I love her voice and I love how intelligent she is. I don't think she has an attitude at ALL anymore...she might have had one in the beginning, but not anymore. But I remember when I used to go to the R&R boards and everyone would gush over Pink. Now cuz she might have had a few flops, it seems like it's "cool and trendy" to hate Pink now, and that's what bothers me. But whatever. I like her new cd. She's cool.

I'll tell you what I like about Pink. She can rock out. She has the strong vocals to pull off actually doing some rock music. Too bad she doesn't actually make much in the way of rock music, because that would be cool.

It's not the flops that cause people to hate Pink---it's the people hating Pink that cause her singles to flop. That and also the fact that her recent releases suck (imo). |

She writes and releases good songs (Apart from Trouble & Feel Good Time), has an interesting voice, and oozes star quality.
Try This is NOT a bad album at all. It's FAR tighter and more consistent than her last 2, though it lacks obvious highlights. Over time though, you realise 'Catch Me while i'm sleeping' and 'Save My Life'are some of the best songs she's ever written.
And i do NOT get all the hate for 'God is a DJ'. It's an enormously catchy, enjoyable return to form.

I dont hate on Pink..period. But I do not gush over here anymore simply because her music is not as good as before. Try This is horrible. When and if she returns with another good cd, I will fully support her again.

I like Pink but I certainly don't love her. I believe she has changed her image since her highly successful second album which is good for her if she is now portraying herself as she really is...a badass. If not, terrible career move.
I also think the stories of her diva attitude (being rude, etc) have also hurt (whether true or not it's what people THINK that counts in the image war). Her voice has been really rough, crude on her past three singles. I can tell a marked difference and the change isn't good, IMO. Although, I do think she can be a pretty good live singer but I've also seen a few performances where she was awful (AMA's or Billboard this year).
Also, how many of her singles was she the only songwriter on? How many songs period did she write by herself? I don't own any of her albums.

P!nk may well be fake, but at least she's not going the way of the whore. what do i see in her? she was ahead of the wave (R&B sounding woman with pop tunes) and she actually didn't sound like anything else, but she doesn't seem as arrogant as Christina and Kelly O., also she doesn't try to clear her name of this and that in the papers the way that Britney, Christina and any other pop "acid queens" do so.. her image is kept by what she does on stage, and what she records... nothing else |

I like Pink, but haven't bought any of her CDs. She's got a good voice & I like that she's written a lot of her own songs. Don't like her recent CD's releases though. But, I think her videos have been a big reason why I started liking her. Family Portrait was interesting and GTPS was fun. She didn't mind looking stupid or not "pretty". What a breathe of fresh air!

I like Pink for the same reasons that I like Britney, minus the good looks. It's how she makes fun and catchy music. I haven't got her new album yet, I should've got it when it was on sale. |
