It seems like every since Ja Rule started doing it now every rapper wants to sing. Even 50 Cent and Fat Joe are doing and they sound absolutely terrible. I was willing to tolerate Ja Rule doing it because it fit the song.... It just get soo annoyed when I see 50 Cent and Fat Joe along with others not even making an effort to try and at least stay on key. YUK!

What's even funnier is that most rappers clowned Ja Rule for doing it, and now they're doing it. Hip hop has become really hypocritical. Someone will call someone out for something, and then do the same thing. 50 says Ja is soft for singing hooks with Ashanti, but what the hell is he doing with Olivia? I agree, though. They all should stop trying to sing. They're all terrible! Eminem is the worst - but since I don't think he takes it seriously, I cut him a break.

Lauryn Hill's the only person I've ever heard that can do both well

Lauryn Hill's the only person I've ever heard that can do both well Agreed. Lauryn is just naturally multi-talented, for real.

Nelly is another one that should stop. How about Eminem? When Eminem was putting that on his tracks I couldn't believe it. Some of the worst crap I've ever heard. At least Biz Markie KNEW he was awful. If they want the singing in there, they need to stick to the collaborations, even though I think that gets ridiculous too.

I think Eminem also falls under the Biz Markie knowing-he-sucks when he sings thing. Although I suspect "Mockingbird" is actually meant to be touching when he sings, which is strangely appealing.
Yeah! Does anyone remember when 50 was all, i'm never gonna sing a hook! um, what the hell do you call "P.I.M.P", "Disco Inferno", "Candy Shop", even Lloyd Banks' "On Fire". both you and Ja can't sing for shit.

Olivia isn't that bad when it comes to her singing and rapping. She's no Lauryn Hill but she just above average.

Snoop Dogg actually sounds alright when he does it. Well at least people can stop complaining about the "featuring (insert singer here)" thing now that they hear rappers sing.

You left out Queen Latifah, people (what great boulder have you all been under, huh?). Very talented at both. As for other rappers trying to sing, the real question should be, "when was the last time rappers ever took voice lessons?" Not from breathing exercises, I believe.

Snoop Dogg actually sounds alright when he does it. Yeah, I was just going to say, he can hold a tune better than most rappers.

I think it would be absurd if Eminem traded rap for singing, but I personally enjoyed that one-track experiment with vocals on "Hailee's Song".
That is a stand-out track. And it isn't like he's trying to do that on every track now. He's just trying to flex his creative muscle and I welcome that experimentation.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Bone Thugz n Harmony - well, they had some nice harmony
Nate Dogg - his voice is unique, but still works.
Missy Elliot - also a unique voice, she can turn her voice into an in your face rap, or a nice sexy flow like in "One Minute Man"
Those are the ones off the top of my head...but, I'm sure there's more.
but yeah, 50 and eminem trying to sing is whack

I honestly don't mind it. It's not like they sound good rapping either.
