"rush, rush"?
This is my favorite song from her and I think this song could still go to #1 today.

I typically think it sounds silly when someone who can sing remakes a well-known song by someone who doesn't have a great voice. Maybe I shouldn't say someone who can sing, and just say someone who does a lot of vocal acrobatics on a regular basis.
Worst choices:
Beyonce
Christina A
If someone is going to take the song and make it vocally impressive, I'd say Mary J is the best bet.
However, my first choice would be someone more like Britney Spears though that wouldn't bring anything more to the song. I'm used to it a certain way, and too much addition to that would turn me off.

However, my first choice would be someone more like Britney Spears though that wouldn't bring anything more to the song. I'm used to it a certain way, and too much addition to that would turn me off. I was also thinking Brintey Spears or Jenifer Lopes. i really think its fits Jennifers voice perfectly. |

Jennifer Lopez would probably be better than Britney even. She'd definitely keep it simple, it'd suit her voice well.

I think Britney is the closest thing to yesterday's Paula Abdul today. Her voice would be ideal for Rush Rush

I think Mandy Moore could do a good job... she has the sweet soft tone to her voice that is required, and she has the ability to convey a lot of emotion.
But honestly... I think Paula's version is FLAWLESS and PERFECT the way it is and I hope nobody ever covers it.

Paula, despite not having a great voice, was the right fit for this song. It fit the song well. Sean's suggestion of Mandy Moore is a good one. I actually think Britney Spears might be able to pull it off as well.
Beyonce, Xtina or any of the powerhouse vocalists would kill this song.
