Janet- US: 4 - 5 million if singles r very good. (WW): probably 10 million Xtina- US: 4 - 6 million now that they know about her more n she isnt can do wat she wants.. if her singles r good she should sell that much. (WW): Europe has really embrace her n she has done astonishingly well in the UK i say 11 - 15 million if her singles r good Mariah- US: 2 hard 2 tell depends if her fans embrace her again same w/ WW System of a Down- US: 5X hopefully like their last WW: 8X Britney- US: i say 5 million will the most she will get if the album does real good. Will probably have good 1st week sale though. WW: probably in the 8X range.. Her album sales have really lowered w/each album.. Japan will be her strong point Jessica S.- US: i think her album will go 2X again in the US or flop real badly.. she will never have HUGE success. WW: no success at all 150K-300K in all markets Beyonce- US: probably 2X-3X or will flop cause she is saturating people 2 much w/her image.. WW: she isnt as huge so i say 5 - 7 million in all. What r your predictions?

I disagree with most of these predictions.
Janet Jackson's career is pretty much screwed. "Damita Jo" was a flop and I don't see how the Michael Jackson trial and scandal will help her any.
Christina Aguilera's last release "Stripped" was successful, no doubt about it. But I don't think her next album will surpass "Stripped". It would HAVE to in order to reach those predictions you made.
Mariah Carey, yeah, it's definitely too early to tell. My guess is Mariah will still fall incredibly short of her past glory, but "It's Like That" is at least already surpassing "Through The Rain" as a single.
System Of A Down won't sell THAT much. And also remember that they're releasing two albums this year. I imagine each release will likely go platinum, with the first one having a shot at double platinum with all the hype.
Absolutely disagree with Britney Spears. I believe she's showing signs of wear. "In The Zone" didn't do badly, but that didn't reach the five million mark in sales, and I believe her downward spiral will continue, especially after the huge flop of her Greatest Hits release. Double platinum at best, but it may even only go platinum.
The Jessica Simpson estimate is fairly accurate. I believe the latter will happen and she'll have a great flop. It may go platinum, but will fall off the Billboard 200 quickly.
Beyonce's next solo project probably won't do too poorly, but not stellar either. It won't sell as good as "Dangerously In Love" but I don't think her image has worn out terribly yet. She got some Grammy love last year, and healthy doses of airplay, so she's certainly in a better place currently than Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Why do people think its so hard for an artist to be consistent. Some cant be, but some actually are consistent.

If I was directly talking about Beyonce, I would have mentioned her name. I think Bee will be consistent but he also said Christina will drop also. Many people just think that once an artist has a big album, than they will just drop right after that. Thats not always the case.

Why do people think its so hard for an artist to be consistent. Some cant be, but some actually are consistent. System Of A Down is the artist here I see the most likely to be consistent. I also believe Christina Aguilera and Beyonce will be fairly consistent upon their next releases, though the former sure sold like crazy internationally and that may be a challenge living up to. But the other four; I just don't see it in them. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I disagree with Britney and Christina. I think if Britney takes a break for a year or two then she might be able to sell around 4 million in the US if singles are good. WW she will probably do around 10 million if singles are good. For Christina I think she'll sell about the same as Stripped in the US but WW I think she will manage to sell about 8-9 million, which is pretty good considering Stripped has shipped 10 million.

I think:
Janet-1 million in US, 2 million worldwide
Christina-4 million in US, 10 million worldwide
Mariah-2 million in US, 5 million worldwide
System of a down: 1.5 million in US, 3 million worldwide
Britney-2 million in US, 5 million worldwide
Jessica-2 million in US, 3.5 million worldwide
Beyonce-3 million in US, 6 million worldwide

This is a pretty good estimate The #'s are to low for Janet and Britney and too high for Christina. I doubt Christina will sell as much or more than Stripped. Britney has sold 4.6 million with her GH without a hit single so 5 million WW is a really low number for a studio album. I say the least Britney will do for a studio album is 7 million.

I'll give you Janet's numbers being underestimated but Britney's are just right (granted she is a biger star internationally so her worldwide sales will be higher that 5mil)...especially if Mona Lisa is a window into her next album. Christina has the potential to sell that much but you're probably right in the fact that it wont sell as much as Stripped. It was 1am when I posted this..gimme a break ;)

i agree w/Jessica selling 2 million but 3.5 WW i sincerely doubt.. Her album has only sold about 50K in the UK she isnt known anywhere.. In this Sking has most about 500,000 copies outside the US no more than that.. I think her next album will totally flop n she will be in debt ones again like she was right after her second album.. I think she better milk her popularity right now.. Try 2 cash in as much as possible cause its starting 2 fade n peeps r getting bored.. Xtina is the biggest American artist in WW sales after Norah Jones probably .. Her album has sold over 3 million copies in Europe alone n her popularity has skyrocketed in both Europe n Asia.. She sold more than her debut everywhere except in the USA,Brazil, n Canada.. Same w/Australia she is super popular overthere.. More so than the oops girl n everyone i can think of.. Britney is the biggest in Japan i think her label should focus on Japan.. Her sales in Europe have really gone low they r nothing like back in the BOMT era.. Her popularity has died down everywhere except in a few select markets like Brazil n Japan..

^^Actually Britneys popularity has started to increase right now, after Toxic the whole world was interested in Britney and that got ITZ to outsell Britney in the UK and Asia. Her Greatest Hits has already outsold ITZ and Britney is many countries in Asia and Europe.

ITZ has sold over 7.5 million (probably around 7.6 now since it was 7.5 before Christmas) and it has shipped 8 million. For Beyonce I have heard 7 million shipped. Just add Beyonces sales because they won't add up to much: USA-4 million(RIAA) Europe-1 million(IFPI) Asia-500-700k max.(she isn't big in any asian market) Canada-300k(Cria) South America and the rest of the world-1 million at most since she ain't popular in those areas and the markets are so small. Total: 7.1 million

I told you that she sold 6.7 million in the top 40 and since passed then. I never said I kne her exact number but I heard other poeople on another board say she sold over 9 million. I mean Bees fans doesnt count every sale values week to week like yall do for Britney so I dont know the exact number. But the only reason I replied was cuz you said Bee sold 6-7 million when you dont know for sure. If you dont know for sure, just dont say anything.

Worldwide sales are so difficult to actually KNOW. So many conflicted numbers. I have "heard" that Beyonce has sold very close to 8 million worldwide (if not over now), ITZ sold 7 million, and the GH has sold 4.1-4.2 million as of now. But...all those numbers could be slightly off one way or another. I sure as hell do not believe some of the sources people spout though-ESPECIALLY ones that claim to know to the UNIT sales for every country in the world **snicker**

"In The Zone" has sold close to 7 million worldwide.
Britrocks (both of you), i think if people want to think that Britney's popularity has declined and her next albums will continue to sell less, then let them.

You predicted that Britney's next album will outsell Christina's, even though "Stripped" outsold "In The Zone", so why is it funny if i think Britney will sell less than Beyonce?
