American Boychoir to sing with Beyoncé at Academy Awards Group includes Lawson Daves of Greenwood
If you're planning to watch the Oscars later this month, you might just see someone from Greenwood - besides Morgan Freeman.
The American Boychoir, whose membership includes Lawson Daves of Greenwood, has just accepted an invitation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to appear in performance, according to Lawson's mother, Andrea Daves.
"They're going to sing 'Vois Sur Ton Chemin,' or 'Look to Your Path,' from 'The Chorus,'" said Daves. The title of the movie in French is "Les Choristes."
The movie and the song are each nominated for an award: the movie for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year, and the song for Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures - more commonly known as "Best Original Song."
Daves said the movie is about a man who is hired as the head of a boarding school for the rehabilitation of orphans and his use of the power music to transform lives.
"How perfect is that?" said Daves.
"And get this," she continued. "They're going to be singing with Beyoncé!"
The Boychoir's parents organization is now figuring out how to pay for the group's trip to Hollywood, which will cost about $20,000. She said she's confident funds will be found quickly.
The 77th annual Academy Awards presentation will be televised on ABC (WABG) starting at 7 p.m. CST on Sunday evening, Feb. 27.

After I read that article and read it was kinda hard to see Bee performin with people who cant even get 20,000 bucks but I could be wrong. Then I went to billboard.com and found another article about her singing at the oscars. It was kinda weird to find that article seeing I just saw another article just like a hour b4 I saw this one. But this one is prob. more accurate.
Josh Groban and Beyoncé will perform the Oscar-nominated song "Believe" together at the 77th annual Academy Awards ceremony, Billboard.com has learned. Written by Glen Ballard and Alan Silvestri, the track is from the movie "The Polar Express" and was performed by Groban on its soundtrack.

Oscars are too boring The Oscars are so not boring! I love the fact that an award is held with such high standards. To get more than one nominations is such a rarity..not like the Grammys that give all the awards to one person - that gets old fast and imo is much more boring

For example, Will Smith's oscar nomination was way more important that his grammy wins, the same goes for Queen Latifah.
