www.radioandrecords.com/Newsroom/2005_04_14/topstory.aspThursday, April 14, 2005 Entercom Hopes Boston Likes 'Mike' Entercom Rhythmic AC WQSX (Star 93.7) gave Boston its "Last Dance" by playing the 1978 hit from hometown girl Donna Summer and switching to the ever-popular Adult Hits "playing everything" non-format format as "93-7 Mike FM." The first song? Dropkick Murphys' "Tessie" — a song that became synonymous with the 2004 Boston Red Sox's quest for the World Championship. That was followed by KC & The Sunshine Band's "Keep It Comin' Love," Doobie Brothers' "China Grove," Bob Seger's "Mainstreet" and another Donna Summer song, "Bad Girls." Jerry McKenna remains WQSX's PD. However, morning talent Ralphie Marino, co-hostess Karen Blake and midday talent Mike McGowan have exited. In a message on the station's website introducing "Mike" to Bostonians, Entercom said, "Mike is not just a radio station. Mike is everything you would download if you had time to download. Mike plays everything — from Donna Summer to Def Leppard, Abba to Aerosmith, Journey to Janet, Beatles to Bananarama. If you love it, Mike is gonna play it."
