I was wondering why Limp Bizkit's "Behind Blue Eyes" can chart at #100 with 12M audience and no single, while Teena Marie's "Still In Love" has 15M audience and a vinyl single but is nowhere to be found on the Hot 100.

Also, why does Hoobastank's "The Reason" have 134M audience, which should put it in the Top 5, but it's only at the bottom of the Top 10.

Because you're using audience figures from Mediabase. Billboard uses BDS. Even with the single on BDS, Teena Marie must not have enough audience to debut.

Does BDS have online charts? Not for free any longer. All Access used to be connected with BDS like they are with Mediabase, and we had access to all the BDS data. They switched to Mediabase a long time ago.

I think a song has to have made the top 75 airplay chart in order to make the Hot 100, but is still eligible to chart even if it has fallen out of the airplay chart. Limp Bizkit probably made the top 75 airplay chart for awhile, while Teena Marie probably hasn't, making her ineliglble, but LB can still chart until they've used up their 20 weeks.

yes, there's a minimum airpplay requirement for entering the chart, but if a song drops below it after entering, it will stil chart. however, 15M with a single and not entering is a little odd, but I guess it means it's not selling at all
