Curious to hear people's stories of meeting rock stars. Please give the details. Did the experience make you like the person more? Less? (I've heard some bad stories about Stephan Jenkins). Thanks!

I've had the pleasure of meeting (I use that word lightly) The Corrs during their numerous Today Show appearances over the past few years and my God, they are utterly beautiful in person. :o Pictures don't even seem to do them justice, lol. I got their autographs and they were all very accomodating to their fans.
There was this one time when Andrea was the last one left to get into the car and one of their handlers was saying that she should hurry up because they were going to miss their flight but the girl stayed until she signed everyone's CDs. Such down-to-earth and nice people.

Rob Thomas & Adam Gaynor of matchbox twenty fame after a concert of theirs in Grand Prairie (Dallas), TX. Both were really awesome and autographed the cover of my limited edition Mad Season CD that I bought like two years before and kept it in the plastic with the hope that the day I removed the plastic would be the day I met them. My friend and I talked to Rob for a minute and told him we loved how they performed "Long Day" with the cover of Wyclef's "Gone Til November" thrown in the middle of it to close the show like they did on the "Live From Australia" video. Rob was like "oh yeah! We did that in Australia, didn't we?!" Then he stuck his hand through the fence and shook my hand. I still can't believe I got to meet and shake hands with the one star I'd want to meet more than any other.

I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Angela Ammons (featured on the "American Pie 2" soundtrack). It was absolutely enchanting. She was the most down-to-earth chica a boy could meet. She even sang bits of J.Lo's "Waiting For Tonight" when she walked into the store which had the video playing. She was super nice and super cool! She appreciated all the support her fans gave her. I was happy success didn't go to her head.

Well I'm going to expand this a bit just because one meeting was too incredible not to include.
I got to meet Pinetop Perkins of Muddy Waters fame. I was at a blues festival and he was still playing in a band that was called "Tribute to Muddy Waters" since he was the only original member. In his 80's *I think* and played the piano brilliantly still. He actually came out into the audience and my friend and I talked to him for a bit and told him how much we enjoyed the concert. It was a thrill. He was as humble and nice as you could imagine. We'd tell him how great he was and he'd just say "Well I surely do try boys, I surely do try"
I also talked with Sponge for quite a while after a concert once. We talked about venues and where they liked playing. Vinny the lead singer was more down to earth than I expected. Yeah, I do think he was high, but he chatted a while and thanked me for recognizing them since literally nobody else at the concert did. They were the opening, opening, opening act.
And that's it for me. I have been to a ton of concerts, but haven't had any other occasions of meeting with or talking with band members.

I got to meet and interview Derek Webb from the group Caedmon's Call. The guy was so awesome and easy to talk to. I felt like we were great friends after that interview. It was so much fun! :)

I met Josh Joplin & John Ondrasik & got to interview Carbon Leaf in person. That was fun, but my editor messed up the article, cut it way short, and got the day they played wrong. >:(

I wrote freelance in the late 80's, so I got a chance to meet (or interview) a number of stars, kind of an eclectic assortment if you ask me. But not many in recent years since I'm not writing other than on the Net. So here's my A List:
Ronnie Spector Whitney Houston (I have a photo with her!) Chris Isaak (twice) Pet Shop Boys Saga (a number of times, since they hail from Toronto where I lived) David Usher (a popular Canadian rock singer, formerly frontman for Moist)
Plus many other minor or Canadian artists who are no longer on the music scene.
I found most of them to be likeable and down-to-earth, only a few were jerks who thought they were superstars all to themselves. Houston, Isaak and PSB all appreciated that I not only was there to meet them as a writer but also as a fan.

What was John Mayer like? I have heard such contradictory stories about him. So have I. Some people say he's a complete ass. He was nothing but nice to me both times I met him though. He joked around and we chatted for about 5 minutes. He signed autographs and took pictures. Seemed cool enough.

Yep. She once teamed up with Mel C for a pop/rock track. Good one, indeed! lol Mel C is a rockin' chica.. she was on KROQ once and her song "Goin' Down" was played when she was visiting them! I did post about Angela Ammons above! A couple days ago, my friends and I went to Melrose Ave and I walked past the cafe Angela and I dined at! Ahh.. memories! Angela introduced me to Melrose! I've never been there before. Everytime I past La Brea and Melrose Avenue, I remember the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of meeting my idol, Angela Ammons! Yip yip! Kaci, hitmaker of the tough-rock track "Kiss Me Crazy," was down-to-earth and nothing but nice! She was so tired after performing at Northridge Mall, but she stayed there till the last person got a signed CD. She also said "Hi" to "Kaci-dash-Net." She also signed a T-shirt for me, which I won on her website! I lied and told her I would continue posting at the K-Network and she thanked me. :( What an awesome, talented sweetie! Her music has been described as "Badly Drawn Boy meets Amy Studt." geoguy should post about meeting rock chica Myra and answering "Max Keeble's Big Move" trivia! Myra sung the rock song "Miracles Happen;" listeners started a mosh pit hearing it in the music video. Also, let's not forget about funky-rock "I Don't Care" hitmaker Angela Via sernading him in a limo with a top-secret hush-hush unreleased song that he can't talk about!

I went bowling with Mandy Moore once. It was right when "Candy" hit radio and no one knew who she was.
I've met Christina Aguilera 6 times.
