I've thought of this before but never really felt compelled to create a thread until now (the pressure was killing me). Anywho, every now and then, you stumble across a song in a soundtrack that is so catchy and so good that you wish they'd have released it to radio. I feel this way with two songs in particular:
1. "Right Kind of Wrong"- LeAnn Rimes, Coyote Ugly. Now I now this soundtrack had a successful run with "Can't Fight The Moonlight" but RKoR is so much better and had the potential of becoming a bigger hit. I really wish they would have gone with this one instead of Moonlight. My favorite track from the soundtrack, hands down. 2. "Candy in the Sun"- Swirl 360, Never Been Kissed. Bar none, this is my absolutely favorite song from the soundtrack and one of my favorite breezy, feel-good pop songs ever. I reeeeallly wish they'dve made a single out of this. It's so radio-friendly and catchy, and would have fit it perfectly with the radio "atmosphere" at the time: spring of 99.
So now I ask you guys, are there any *original* soundtrack songs that you wish had been released as radio singles?

I really wish they would have gone with this one instead of Moonlight. My favorite track from the soundtrack, hands down. Agreed. I loved that song. Some other good soundtrack songs: 1. Billie Piper - "Makin' My Way (Any Way That I Can)" from "Pokemon The First Movie" soundtrack Billie did justice to this Diane Warren penned track. I loved the inspirational lyrics. The song is just perfect for radio! 2. Ashley Ballard featuring So Plush - "It Was You" from "Pokemon The First Movie" soundtrack This was a hot RnB jam! I've heard lotsa cars pump this song up while driving around. Radio-friendly! 3. Josie & The Pussycats - "You Don't See Me" and "Pretend To Be Nice" from the "Josie & The Pussycats" soundtrack I liked "3 Small Words," but both the sing-along "Pretend To Be Nice" and the haunting ballad "You Don't See Me" would've been excellent single choices as well. Had the movie been more successful, we would've seen more singles released.

I am pretty sure this song has been released, but "Mad World" from "Donnie Darko" was an awesome song. I am pretty sure it was released to AC and Hot AC, but it needs to get CHR/Pop exposure. I think they're releasing "Donnie Darko" again this summer. I can't wait to see it in theaters.
Thanks, Ben

Didn't "Never Been Kissed" tank at the box office? (My point is that unless the artist is already a superstar, if one has a song on the soundtrack of what turns out to be a B-movie, it doesn't stand a chance at radio.)
[For that matter, "What's Luv" doesn't count because Juwanna Mann came out after "What's Luv" had been and gone.]

It's still hanging around on Triple-A though.

Didn't "Never Been Kissed" tank at the box office? Nope, it was a surprise teen hit movie. It grossed $55 mil in 1999, very good for a teen movie.

It's my third favorite Diane Warren songs of all time and a track I never get tired of. I bet if they released it now, it could still be huge! Hopefully Diane will get this recorded by someone else and it will surface one day on the airwaves. (Kimberly Caldwell maybe?)
