I am sorry if a recent thread has been made about her new cd-I searched but didnt find anything ??? Anyways, is her new cd worth it in your opinion? I love Why Cant I and Extraordinary has grown on me immensely. Is the rest of the cd solid?

Yeah, I thought it was the best thing to come out last year.
If you like the singles you'll like the rest of the album too, for sure.
"Exile In Guyville" is still better, but maybe that's not your style.

I've only heard good things about the album. One song I heard off the album is "Red Light Special" and it is great! Although, I also hear the album is pretty dirty.

Great album, shame it didn't sell so well.

I made a topic on this album almost a year ago, but obviously it didn't get transferred over from the R&R boards... ;)
Good album. My opinion, the non-Matrix songs are even better than the singles.

My sister's boyfriend hates it, but he loved her older albums.

I like the new album for what it is - a catchy, pop rock album. It's good on that level, but compare it to her other albums and it's not so great. Her best will always be Exile In Guyville because of the rawness of the production and the blunt lyrics (Fuck and run, Fuck and run, even when I was seventeen...). Also, she didn't really sing on EIG. She "melodically talked." On her self-titled album, her voice has been enhanced to make it sound much better than it is.
But yeah, her new album has a Tbunch of catchy songs. Actually, pretty much every song is radio friendly. It is basically the adult version of Let Go. My favorite songs are Little Digger, Red Light Fever, Rock Me, Extraordinary, Friend Of Mine, and Firewalker.

Her latest album is pure crap, and that's even without taking points off for selling out.

In a sense, I can't blame Liz for selling out, everyone would like fame and fortune and to be immensely popular, and after a decade of under-appreciation, who can blame her for trying to make a commercially friendly album?

her voice has been enhanced to make it sound much better than it is. It might have been enhanced a little bit, but have you heard her live?! She's pretty damn close to what it sounds like on the album! I love the album, hence the username I really like Extraordinary, Red Light Fever, Why Can't I?, Rock Me, Favorite, and Love/Hate.

I went to buy it but just as I was grabbing the cd, I realized that I was in Walmart-they only sell edited cds. >:( I do not want an edited version. So I left. I have decided I definitely want it...I just have to go get it sometime. I live in a VERY small town so its over two hours away to a major cd store. I rely on Walmart and Target most of the time.

Ugh I hear you. We only have a Wal-Mart so I have to go out of town to get parental advisory CD's. No WAY will I shell out the cash for an edited version.
And Liz's album would be absolutely NO fun if it was edited. So definitely hold out.

Any word on a 3rd single, since "Extraordinary" looks like it's running out of steam already?
