I need a 3rd single from Mya. "My Love Is Like..Wo" did good and it had some HOT remixes. However, Interscope dropped the ball when they released "Fallen" to try to cash in on some of the success of "Wo's" pop success.
"Things Come and Go" and "No Sleep Tonight" are the most "commercial" singles. However, I think they should take a risk with "Take A Picture" or "Late". Both are really well produced and written. "Late" could have a very funny video with Mya using 100 different pregnancy tests and yelling and her boyfriend cuz he won't stay!!

Mya had a chat with her fans on her official website about a month agao and she said her label ran out of money to properly promote her album so her album is done. she said she is currently working on her next abum and will not be taking a long break so it will probably be out next summer.

So I guess the follow-up question to that would be where did all the money go then?

I'm so pissed off right now, no one has any idea. My advice would be not to give me any dynamite right now. Poor Mya, I hope she goes to another label

lol Good idea! Sean Paul is "so 2003," so "Things Come And Go" would flop. "Take A Picture" would only work at graduation time. I would pick "No Sleep Tonight" as her next single, if she were to release another. Poor Mya. She got lost in the shuffle with all the Beyonce, Ashanti, Mary, Monica hype last summer.

Mya had potential with her album. It was really good but pop her the format that loves her most. The MTV audience had her on the TRL countdown daily and she barely ever made BET's 106 and park.. With that being said she needed a pop single and I think "whateva Bitch" without the gay men talkin through the song coulda been really big at pop....it coulda been her "toxic"
"you" woulda also been a good single.

I think there was talk of "Things Come & Go" being the third single from her album and also a single from the Barbershop 2 soundtrack, but it never happened. I think they really thought "Fallen" would be a smash, and when that didn't happen they just gave up.
After all, they spent a lot of money promoting those first two singles and the album hasn't sold very much. I think last I saw, it was between 500-600K.

The certainly didnt give up on Black eyed peas when "shut up" BOMBED.

It's all about money. The money they spent making her album, promoting "My Love Is Like...Wo" and "Fallen" far exceeds the money they spent making BEP's album and promoting the first two singles, yet she's sold a paltry amount. Rather than sink more money, they sent her back to the studio.

Just be glad they still consider her worthwhile and that we will get a 4th Mya album. It's true, 2003 was ridiculously full of R&B female singers, and Mya was lucky to do even as well as she did. Beyonce was unstoppable and Ashanti was still powered up from her first albums' run, and Monica's fan base is bigger and "So Gone" was huge. And Mary is Mary.

Eh, every label seems to be having problems w/ money and politics now. The production alone had to take up a good amount of money (Missy Elliott , Swizz Beats).

Did anyone notice that "Things Come & Go" peaked as high as the 90's on the CHR/Pop chart?
I believe that just one station in Salt Lake City was providing all of the spins. Utah has great taste!

There must have been problems with releasing "Things Come & Go." Maybe Atlantic (who never fail to screw things up) told Interscope it couldn't be released.

I really was surprised to see Fallen not do well. It sounded to me like a surefire hit. I have no idea what the deal with Things Come And Go was, but I do know this...all those spins came from KZHT in Salt Lake City! They had the track in power for a while...I was in Utah a couple weeks ago and heard it. It wasn't a bad track, definetely could have made the Top 30 if released. Who knows, maybe she could've pulled a Black Eyed Peas, too bad Interscope didn't give her the chance.
Don't worry though, I'm sure she'll have some hits from her new album. Any word on when it drops?
