Wondering what song you heard on the radio that you knew immediately would be a hit. Some songs need to grow on you, but others are like "bam" that's a hit! One that I remember is "If You're Gone" by Matchbox Twenty. I was vaguely aware of who they were but had never bought an album of theirs. When I heard the song on the radio for the first time I knew it would be huge! I even remember exactly where I was on the road when I heard it. Ended up getting both their albums cuz I realized I liked so many of their songs without ever registering who they were.
Another one is The Reason by Hoobastank. Loved it instantly and knew it was a #1 song.

I knew JALW would flop.
I knew DRM and AFY would both go to #1. I also predicted Music would get #1 after DRM. I knew Crazy In Love was a hit.

I knew My Band would be huge.
I also knew Die Another Day would explode big, but not have much longevity. Uhh.... I knew Baby Boy would be huge...same for The Reason (GOD I HATE THAT SONG)
But I was convinced that Caress My Body would flop, but it's doing wonderfully, much to my dismay

I knew Angela Via's "Picture Perfect" would be a global smash the first time I listened to it on her official website.
I also knew Jessica Simpson's "With You" was going to be a massive #1 hit on CHR/Pop.

I was one of few who knew Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" would chart CHR/Pop.
I was one of few who believed "100 Years" by Five For Fighting would be a huge hit on Hot AC and AC.
I remember some noticed how slowly "When I'm Gone" by 3 Doors Down was climbing Alternative and it seemed the single ran out of steam when it got to the Top 20 and questioned the band's future. I believed it would be a Top 5 Pop hit and not only did it accomplish the feat, it went #1.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I've long ago given up on "knowing" what radio and what people will embrace. There have been a number of hits that I felt "should" be hits, but I've never for sure known.
I felt this way about "The Reason", "Hey Ya", but also about "I'm Shakin" and "Hang On", so there you go.

Hey Ya (the first time I saw the video I knew it would be a hit).
The Reason I thought would have been big enough for top 10 but nowhere near as big as it is now.
Meant to Live...I had faith that this song would do well. It did pretty much what I expected and almost more.
My Immortal (both the album AND the radio version) from the first time I heard Fallen. Even though the first one was a different version, I thought that this song was top 10 worthy. This was before I'd even become an Evanescence fan. It almost hit #1 on the pop chart.
Toxic believe it or not, but that's not really all that surprising. What is is that it's one of the only Britney songs I'll admit to liking.

Lumidee "uh Oh"
Terror Squad "lean back"
alicia keys "if i ain't got you"
usher "yeah" (i heard that when it was just a leak and i knew it was gonna really really blow up)
mya "case of the ex"
Monica "So Gone"
Faith Evans "Never Gonna Let You Go" -- I'm more likely to think something is gonna flop and then its a hit, than vice versa.

Definitely Beyonce's "Crazy In Love." When I heard the horns I said to myself, "This is going to be huge," and it was. I think everyone knew that this song was going to be big though. "The Reason," too, because it's so corny and cheesy ;).
Thanks, Ben

Toxic- Britney All You Wanted- Michelle.
And I remember, around this time last year, many people were appalled at Christina Aguilera's choice of releasing Can't Hold Us Down and predicted that it would flop. But I always knew that the song will be a huge hit.

The first time I heard "A Thousand Miles" I knew it was going straight to #1! Same with "Complicated" and "When I'm Gone." Too bad there aren't any pop up songs like that anymore, radio needs some new artists and fresh sounds, otherwise it's so predictable and boring.
