Just listening to the station from St John's Newfoundland and they didn't cut out the f-word in 'Harder To Breathe' by Maroon 5. Thought that was interesting!

I thought they said "funkin'".
I haven't heard the F-word censored out of Nelly's "Shake Ya Tailfeather" in months. My active rock station plays Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" uncensored.

When I was in Italy, whenever I heard Eamon's "f**k It (Don't Want You Back)" it was unedited. the F-word isn't a curse there lol. But for us Americans living there, it was still funny to hear being in a nice restaurant or something with those lyrics.
Same goes with rap songs, unedited... and even Robbie Williams' "Sexed Up" would be played with a blatant "f**k" in one of the verses.

When I was in Hungary two summers ago, I constantly heard Eminem's "Without Me" uncensored on the radio and in public places. WXRK used to let swear words slip a lot until a few years ago. They'd play songs like Nirvana's "Aneurysm" and Sublime's "Wrong Way" uncensored. However, now they've gone back and censored those songs themselves using that annoying revesal technique - it sounds really weird the way they censored "sh*t" on "Aneurysm."

It's wierd how some songs are edited and some not. Meredith Brooks hit is never edited, but 'Just Like A Pill' usually is.
The only song I know of to have 'Fuck' unedited on Radio is George Micheal's 'Freeeak', I dunno why.

I always hear "Just Like A Pill" censored.
Flow 93.5 sometimes edits the songs themselves. They did that with "Wanna Get To Know You" but missed "fuck" in the chorus sung by Joe.

I have a question. Is the f-word in "Building a Mystery"? If so, sometimes I hear it bleeped and sometimes I don't.

I thought they said "funkin'". They do (at least that what the lyrics in the CD booklet say). Some stations muffle it anyway 'cause it sounds dirty though.

Regardless of the lyrics printed in the booklet, the F-bomb is dropped in the CD version of the song. True, it sounds that way, but maybe he's just mispronouncing "funkin". ;)

KBCO-FM plays Sarah McLachlan's "Building A Mystery" uncensored.

We have two karaoke cds with Harder to Breathe on it and for the line they put F***IN' (with the stars).
Doesn't sound like funkin' to me at all, dispite the lyric sheet.

It's not.Β I think he was joking because people always thought "humped" was "f**ked". Oops. I really did think it was "f**ked around."

KBCO-FM plays Sarah McLachlan's "Building A Mystery" uncensored. It's probably unintentional. I doubt they realize the word is in there.

Back when I was living in San Diego, the active rock station played the uncensored version of "Creep" by Radiohead. I honestly never knew this, but the version we normally hear is "You're so very special", but the uncensored version is "You're so f---ing special". For the ten years that song had been out, I never knew there was a dirtier version.

I'm pretty sure the CD booklet says the f-word because I remember looking at it when I first got the CD to see if there was a word cut out. They also didn't say it on SNL when they did the song either. Was the sheet music produced by Disney?

It says: "Copyright © 2002 by BMG Songs, Inc, Valentine Valentine, Careers-BMG Music Publishing, Inc. and February Twenty Second Music..." and so on.
And FYI, sheet music do include swearing if the original song does. I have the sheet music for "Doo Wop (That Thing)" and all the swearing was included uncensored. As well, in my Songs In A Minor music book, all of those random swearing in her songs were included.

One of the biggest hits of the early 90s dropped the F-bomb: Unbelievable by EMF.
At the time of its release, I was working in a college radio station and we got a promo copy of the CD. The voice over the music in the song says "What the F**k was that?" numerous times. The lyric sheet on the original CD had it printed. After the song got big, the line magically disappeared from the lyric sheets of future copies. I guess if the public doesn't know what they're hearing, don't tell em.

On Maroon5's live acoustic EP, it's really clear that he's singing the F-word.

You guys made me wanna double check but I'm almost positive that it was the f-word in the booklet. I got my copy in February of 2004. But why does the radio censor out the word then?
