Vivian Green had one of the best R&B Ballads out in 2003 with "emotional rollercoaster" and i knew she and Heather Headly would sweep the r&b categories at the Grammys, Heather got her nominations but Vivian recieved none and her songs were far superior. what happened?? she really deserved nominations for best r&b song and best female r&b vocal performace but she didnt get any nominations at all.

I don't get it either. I don't have her album, but all of her singles were killer.

Hmmm... her album didn't get AMAZING reviews but neither did Heather's. I loved both although I probably preferred Heather's a little bit. Both ladies hit the Top 5 with all of their releases on my personal chart. Heather was the only one to get a #1 though. She topped it with "I Wish I Wasn't".

The Grammy's aren't doing too well lately. Look at who won the most this year, while Vivian didn't even get a nod? Furthermore, Monica had strong reviews at the #1 urban song of the year, and also no nods? Answer: it's political, and it's let's nominate the most popular so more ppl watch the show. People don't know Vivian so why nominate her.

I love "Fanatic," but "Emotional Rollercoaster" was boring. "Fanatic" sounded really good on the radio. I felt the same way about Heather Headley. I loved "I Wish I Wasn't," but "He Is" was boring. Similarly, I thought the former sounded really good on the radio.
It was a shame Vivian's album didn't get nominated for a Grammy.

I think she's boring, but maybe she's just not my type of music.

She had great remixes too, for both "Emotional Rollercoaster" and "Fanatic". They were both hits in the clubs.

As much as I liked "Emotional Rollercoaster" (it made #4 on my chart), I liked "Fanatic" and "What Is Love" even more. Her songs didn't even really blow up at Urban AC aside from "Emotional Rollercoaster". Her label must not have pushed her too well.

Only looking at the original versions I agree, both "Fanatic" and "What Is Love" are better than "Emotional Rollercoaster". But I like the Above & Beyond mix of "Emotional Rollercoaster" best of all.

...and speaking of Heather Headley, her album was really good but she was probably best off stopping after those two singles because a third release would not have done nearly as well as the first two judging from the rest of the songs on that CD. They were good, but not single material. Unfortunately, I don't even think she's focusing on recording music at the moment. She started a new show as far as I have heard.

I didnt like her album much..it wa sust bland. On the other hand I thought Vivian Gren was going to be the next big thing in r&b/soul. the next Erykah Badu/Jill Scot/Alicia Keyes type of thing. What label was she with?

Vivian is on Sony. Obviously they felt they had another talent to push.. *cough*Beyonce*cough* wow, push talent to the side for a blonde weave and a booty shake. I dont understand why labels act like they cant supoprt more then 1 artist? Thats the same way j records did monica. Its as if they dont understand the concept of the more u put into something, the bgger the pay off will be at the end. How the HELL was Vvian Green on a Major label like Sony and got the promotion of a independant label!!!! That makes NO SENSE! She coulda have just been on Bluenote or Curve records!

Vivian's CD is very tasteful and of high quality throughout. But there is one song that so outshines the rest, and is one of the best songs period of the last 2 years, and much better than the songs she released as singles. It's called "Music" and is very soulful and emotionally uplifting. It's been high on my chart for about a year.
