Do you think that Tamyra Gray joining the upcoming "American Idol 3" Tour for the majority of the tour dates will help boost her profile and album sales?
BTW, Do you believe that her "Raindrops Will Fall" will be successful at radio and what song of hers do you think would make a grand second single?
I think "Legend" would make an excellent second single.

I don't know if it will really help that much, since the audience at the tour has already heard her perform on AI3 3 times.
I don't think Raindrops will do that well at radio. If they're focusing on Urban AC, the next single has to be either Legend or Good Ol' Days, while if they want a Pop hit, The Only Thing is probably the best choice. I LOVE Faces, but I don't know how it would do on radio.

I won't help her, and her appearance won't help the tour. Unless she works with A-list songwriters, you can kiss Tamyra's career goodbye.
Thats too bad, because she is clearly one of the best two singers to come from Idol along with Kelly.

I think this is 19 being cheap -- it probably costs less to pay Tamyra to tour, and sell a few albums in this manner, than to promote a single to radio.
On the other hand, if 19 sends Tamyra to local radio stations to promote her single, this could turn out well for her. Still, I cannot for the life of me understand why they picked "Raindrops Will Fall" for a first single. It's the most awkward, trite song on the album. If they wanted to go with a ballad, why not "Legend"? And there is far better uptempo material on the album than "Star."
The tour may help get Tamyra a little bit, keep her name out there (via reviews), and gain her a few thousand album sales. I'm guessing that the "break-even" point for 19 and her album is somewhere between 100K and 150K in sales -- she has sold over 90K to this point, so the tour will help to get her there.

Tours rarely help boost album sales, and Tamyra G. is no exception, and RWF is a horrible choice for a single, it will not do well.

So, they're snubbing Leah Labelle, an actual AI3 contestant out of the tour just for their precious Tamyra?
19E makes me sick.
PS: I can't care less whether Matt Rogers is on the tour.
